ABC 17 MLRA Fall Nationals and Factory Stock Shootout this Weekend!

Lucas Oil SpeedwayWHEATLAND, MO (October 7th, 2014) – The Inaugural ABC 17 Lucas Oil MLRA Fall Nationals and Factory Stock Shootout Presented by O’Dell Trucking is this Thursday-Saturday, Oct. 9th-11th at Lucas Oil Speedway in Wheatland, MO!

“It’s a real treat that we are able to conclude a highly competitive Lucas Oil MLRA season here at our home track, Lucas Oil Speedway.” commented Lucas Oil Speedway General Manager and Lucas Oil MLRA Series Director Dan Robinson. “We have a tight championship battle in the MLRA with Chad Simpson and Terry Phillips on the line and a great field of cars expected this weekend in all three classes.”

The weekend kicks off with an open practice session for all classes on Thursday, Oct. 9th from (6-9pm) followed by entertainment in the Diamond Bar by “James Clay and the Boomchux”.

On Friday, October 10th the Lucas Oil MLRA will headline the program with a complete show highlighted by a 40-lap, $3,000 to win main event with the field set through traditional passing points.

Saturday, October 11th, the MLRA competitors will get their chance at the $5,000 to win first place money via time trials to set the heat race match-ups followed by a 50-lap main event. The format will be the same Group A & B format utilized at the Show-Me 100 and the Diamond Nationals earlier in the season.

Mount Vernon, Iowa’s Chad Simpson leads Springfield, Missouri’s Terry Phillips, the all-time win leader in the MLRA by just 71 points going into the final weekend of action. The 2013 MLRA Sunoco Rookie of the Year, Travis Dickes occupies the third spot in the season long standings as he holds a margin of just 2 points over Arizona native and Nixa, Missouri resident Jeremy Payne. Iowa’s Dave Eckrich rounds out the Top-5.

“The Reaper” Ryan Gustin looks to creep into the Top-5 from his sixth position in the season long points standings as the Marshalltown, Iowa driver is only 25 points out of fifth. Having already locked up the MLRA Sunoco Rookie of the Year for 2014, Scott Lewis tows all the way from Henderson, Colorado for this weekend’s action as he holds down the seventh position. John Anderson, Tommy Weder Jr., and Bill Koons sit 8th-10th respectively.

The Inaugural Factory Stock Shootout Presented by O’Dell Trucking, featuring the Carson’s Corner Napa Auto Parts Factory Stocks will also take center stage this weekend as the top Factory/Street Stock drivers in the region attempt to qualify for Saturday’s, 50-lap, $2,500 to win, $250 to start main event. Action gets underway for the Factory Stocks with time trials and heat races on Friday night followed by B-Mains and the 50-lap feature on Saturday night. Non-Transfer payout is $100.

Rules for this special event are basically “Track Rules”. You can run yours or ours but bring yours with you and don’t mix and match. Exceptions are no Bert/Brinn type transmissions and no heim end rear trailing arms.

The Tri-Lakes RV B-Mods will also be in action running a full show both nights with USRA National Points on the line highlighted by a special $500 to win, 25-lap Main Event on Saturday night, courtesy of Kathy Stanley Real Estate.

The Family Pass is designed to help families find a great entertainment value at an affordable price. To qualify for the pass there must be at least two adults and one child present at the time of purchase. Maximum number of children under the age of 16 to be covered per pass is 3.
