Wheel, TN-November 14, 2014- The colder temperatures this evening have caused the Southern Nationals Bonus Series 3rd Annual Deep Fried 75 at Duck River Raceway Park to be halted due to ice forming on the racing surface at the conclusion of Super Late Model time trials.
The program will resume where it was halted on Friday evening, with Crate Late Model time trials being the first activity of the day, followed by the conclusion of Friday’s program, which will also include E-Mod heats, Southern Nationals Bonus Series Super Late Model heats, with the drawing by two lucky race fans to determine the 20 car starting field for the $1,000 to win Turkey Run 20. Up next will be the Pure Pony and Street Stock heats, followed by the Southern Nationals Bonus Series Super Late Model Turkey Run 20, with the Outlaw Pony and E-Mod features following the Turkey Run 20.
After these events on Saturday afternoon, the regularly scheduled events for Saturday November 15 will take place, with the 3rd Annual Deep Fried 75 highlighting the afternoon’s racing events, paying $11,000 to win and $700 to start.
In events completed prior to the track icing up, thirty-three (33) entries representing twelve states were signed in for action and participated in time trials. Dennis Erb, Jr. of Carpentersville, IL would be the top qualifier in Group A at 13.525 seconds, while Riley Hickman of Chattanooga, TN the overall top qualifier and top runner in Group B at 13.158 seconds.
Activities on Saturday November 15 will see the pit area cleared around 8:00 a.m., with the pit area and general admission area reopening at 9:00 a.m. The drivers meeting will take place at Noon, followed by on-track activities, beginning with Crate Late Model time trials from Friday evening.
