WOODWARD, Okla.—Rowland Racing, LLC, announced today that a partnership has been forged with three-time Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series Champion Jimmy Owens for the 2015 racing season.

With a mission of capturing his fourth series crown and the first for Rowland Racing, Owens will pilot Club 29 Race Cars for the Woodward, Okla., based team with Widow Wax Premium Car Care Products on board as primary sponsor of the team.

“I don’t foresee any drop off going into next year,” Owens said. “We’ll basically be running the same equipment—good equipment—and I’m confident we’ll be on our game out of the gate.”

In the first full-time campaign with the Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series in 2014, the Rowland Racing team with driver Jason Hughes of Watts, Okla., finished tenth in the final series points while the former United States Modified Touring Series National Champion secured the 2014 Dunn-Benson Ford Rookie of the Year honors.

“We owe a world of thanks to Jason for coming aboard with us for the 2014 season,” team owner Bryan Rowland said. “It was an enormous learning experience for all of us, but in the end we achieved the goals we set for ourselves in our first year.

“Obviously with Jimmy behind the wheel of our cars next year, the bar is much higher. We think we have the best driver in the sport behind the wheel of our cars, and we’ll make sure he has the resources he needs to win races and win championships.”

Long-time crew members Jeff Strope and Kenny Holt will tag along with Owens in his move to Rowland Racing. Both have been with Owens since 2009, including all three back-to-back-to-back Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series championships from 2011-2013.

In addition to his LOLMDS titles, Owens has more than 500 career victories in dirt late models and open-wheel dirt modifieds. The 42-year-old from Newport, Tenn., was a four-time UMP Modified National Champion between 1998-2002. He won the first event he ever entered: a street stock race in 1991 at the Kingsport (Tenn.) Speedway.

Most recently, Owens bagged his sixth career World of Outlaws World Finals victory Nov. 8 at the Dirt Track at Charlotte in Concord, N.C.

Owens will turn his first laps in the Rowland Racing machine Jan. 10, 2015, on opening night of the annual Wild West Shootout at the USA Raceway in Tucson, Ariz. The week-long event runs through Jan. 18. From there, the team will get ready for the season opener for the Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series and the Super Bowl of Racing, Feb. 5-7, at the Golden Isles Speedway in Brunswick, Ga.

Headquartered in Woodward, Okla., Rowland Racing, LLC, fields super dirt late models on Club 29 Race Cars chassis and open-wheel dirt modifieds crafted with LG2 by Road Runner chassis beautified by Widow Wax Premium Car Care Products.

Widow Wax is made using a ThinFilm technology that leaves a hard, glass-like finish on all painted surfaces. Widow Wax dries clear in cracks and crevices, and is guaranteed to not leave behind a dusty chalky residue. This White Brazilian Carnauba Wax is safe for today’s paint jobs and all clear coats.

In addition to these incredible partners, Rowland Racing is made possible by support from AFCO Brakes, CPD Racing Tools, Performance Bodies, Peterson Jewelry, Pro Power Racing, Road Runner Trucking, Road Runner Crane, Specketer Farms, Sybesma Graphics and VP Racing Fuels.
