WHEATLAND, MO (January 8th, 2015) – Lucas Oil Speedway and Lucas Oil MLRA Officials are gearing up for a busy slate of January trade shows prior to kicking off the on-track action in 2015. It all gets started this weekend with the Springfield Boat, Sport & RV Show. Other events include the 2015 Lucas Oil Chili Bowl Midget Nationals Trade Show, Kansas City Boat and Sport Show and Bodees Racers Auction & Trade Show.
“We really are fortunate to have some great events going on in our area during the off-season to help us reach out to our current fans and interact with new ones too,” said Lucas Oil Speedway General Manager Dan Robinson. “We encourage folks to take advantage of these cold winter weekends and come out and see what’s going on. We will have the brand new 2015 pocket schedules available plus there’s also the chance to win some FREE tickets to one of our 2015 events too!”
The first event on the slate is the 6th Annual Springfield Boat, Sport & RV Show this weekend at the Ozarks Empire Fairgrounds E-Plex. This multipurpose facility will be loaded with new boats of all types, along with RV’s and trailers. The legendary drag boat “Panic Mouse” will be close by in the facility too. The largest Indoor racing event in the world, the 29th Annual Chili Bowl Midget Nationals fires off next Tuesday evening. The race held January 13-17 at the River Spirit Expo Center in Tulsa, Oklahoma also boasts a healthy trade show for event goers. It is open from 11 AM-7 PM throughout the week and 9 AM-7 PM Saturday. One of the largest off-season events in the Midwest is the Kansas City Boat & Sportshow held in downtown Kansas City at Bartle Hall January 22-25. This four day extravaganza has something for just about everybody, including a massive collection of the latest and greatest boats on the market. The Lucas Oil Speedway, Lucas Oil MLRA booth has featured several different racing attractions in the booth in previous years. An ASCS Sprint Car will take center stage this season. Attendees are encouraged to get an up close look at the fastest genre of cars racing on dirt and also to try your hand with the Impact Signs, Awnings & Wraps Pit Stop Simulator. Regional dirt racing standout Jason Bodenhamer has made a name for himself behind the wheel of Modifieds and Late Models for many years. In the racing business world, Bodenhamer, founded and operates Bodee’s Racers Auction and Trade Show. Heading into its 17th year, Bodenhamer runs a successful program which attracts a huge crowd to the Matthewson Exhibition Center on the Missouri State Fairgrounds in Sedalia, MO. This year’s 17th edition takes place Saturday and Sunday, January 24-25. The event doors open at 8 AM, and the auction starts at 9 AM each morning. The show goes throughout the day and into the early evening. Ending times each day are based on total consignment numbers.
