St. Louis, MO – March 17th, 2015 – After a long and cold winter, the 2015 dirt track racing season in the St. Louis region is set to get underway this weekend (weather permitting of course). Highland Speedway in Highland, Illinois will get things started this Saturday, March 21st at 6pm with their season opener that will feature UMP Late Models, UMP Modifieds, UMP SportMods & Micro Sprints. Highland Speedway will then turn around on Sunday and have an open test & tune session starting at noon.
Action picks up next week when Belle-Clair Speedway in Belleville, Illinois hosts a test & tune session on Tuesday, March 24th. Belle-Clair Speedway will then have their 2015 season opener on Friday, March 27th with the Shamrock 40 featuring UMP Late Models, UMP Modifieds, AARA Pure Stocks and Micro Sprints. Racing gets underway at 7pm. Then on Saturday, March 28th, Federated Auto Parts Raceway at I-55 in Pevely, MO & St. Francois County Raceway in Farmington, MO get into action with their test & tune sessions with both beginning at noon. Then, late on that evening, Highland Speedway gets their second night of racing in as they host the Lucky 40 featuring UMP Late Models, UMP Modifieds, Street Stocks & Micro Sprints. Tri-City Speedway in Granite City, Illinois gets into the action on Sunday, March 29th as they host a test & tune session starting at 2pm.
The first weekend of April brings a full slate of racing to all the area dirt tracks. Tri-City Speedway & Belle-Clair Speedway will host events on Friday nights during April and Federated Auto Parts Raceway at I-55, Highland Speedway & St. Francois County Raceway will all host events on Saturday nights. Other dirt tracks in the region including Fayette County Speedway in Brownstown, Illinois, Jacksonville Speedway in Jacksonville, Illinois, Macon Speedway in Macon, Illinois, Rt 45 Speedway in Flora, Illinois, Lincoln Speedway in Lincoln, Illinois, Quincy Raceway in Quincy, Illinois and Callaway Raceway in Fulton, Missouri all kick off their racing seasons in early April. Our friends down south at Kentucky Lake Motor Speedway & Paducah Int’l Raceway also kick off their 2015 racing seasons in early April.
