Quincy, Illinois (03/25/15) – 16-year-old Jake Griffin is eagerly preparing to pilot the MB Motorsports #63 Chevrolet Silverado entry in the NASCAR Camping World Truck Series (NCWTS) event at Martinsville Speedway (Martinsville, Virginia) this Saturday, March 28th.

The Kroger 250 will mark Griffin’s first start in NCWTS competition, and it will be coming with a historic team. MB Motorsports is the oldest team in the NASCAR Camping World Truck Series. Their history with the tour dates back to the inaugural season in 1995.

The team, which is owned by Missouri-based, Mittler Brothers, will be teaming with Jake Griffin, who became the youngest driver to ever win a NASCAR sanctioned event after a claiming win at the age of 14-years-old in 2013.

“Words can’t describe how excited I am for this opportunity,” said Griffin. “It’s been my dream since I was a small child to compete in the NASCAR ranks. I can’t thank MB Motorsports enough for giving me this opportunity.” He concluded by noting, “I plan to do everything within my ability to capitalize on the opportunity.”

The #63 Chevrolet Silverado will also carry sponsorship from People Against Distracted Driving and Johnson Logistics.

“I’m so very grateful to have great sponsors like PADD and Johnson Logistics stepping up to support me in my racing endeavors,” noted Griffin.

The team enjoyed a very successful practice session last weekend at Lebanon I-44 Speedway (Lebanon, Missouri) and now are focused on this weekend’s event. NCTWS competitors will get three practice sessions on Friday, March 27th. The docket for Saturday, March 28th includes Keystone Light Pole Qualifying and the 250 lap, Kroger 250.
