(BATESVILLE, ARKANSAS) Billy Moyer Racing (BMR) trekked north to the Hawkeye State of Iowa on April 17-18 to compete in a pair of special events, which were tri-sanctioned by the MARS DIRTcar Series, American Late Model Series, and Corn Belt Clash tours. On Friday night at Davenport Speedway in Davenport, Iowa, Billy Moyer ran fourth in heat race action, which placed him starting eleventh on the grid in the $4,000 to win feature event. Unfortunately, Billy was involved in a multi-car pileup on lap twelve and was forced to retire from the 35-lapper in the twentieth position.

At 34 Raceway in West Burlington, Iowa on Saturday evening, the annual running of the ‘Slocum 50′ took place and a $10,555 top prize was on the line. Billy won his heat race in preliminary action and later rolled off from the inside of the third row in the 50-lap headliner. After grabbing the point on lap six, the Batesville, Arkansas ace controlled the stellar field for much of the remaining distance. Billy battled a tight racecar late in the race and was passed for the lead on the final corner by eventual winner Ryan Unzicker, which dropped him to a runner-up performance. Full results from the MARS/ALMS/CBC weekend can be accessed online at www.marsracingseries.com.

After watching the weather all week, Billy has opted to enjoy the upcoming April 24-25 weekend away from the racetrack. He will return to action next weekend, but his plans are not finalized as of yet.
