Double-X Speedway opens Sunday May 3!

xx_logoThe 26th annual season of “Sunday Night Thunder” rolls off Sunday May 3 in California MO. The family tradition continues as the 1/4 dirt oval is prepares to welcome fans and competitors as friends once again. Weekly classes will be Winged Sprint Cars, Super Stocks and Hobby Stocks with guest classes and special events to fill out the season. The stars of the ASCS Warrior Region are slated to make five appearances at Double-X Speedway this year, May 24 for the annual “Tribute to Jesse” honoring our fallen brother Jesse Hockett and on June 21 as a special tribute to all fathers on Father’s Day.  The ASCS “Red White and Blue Tour” through Missouri kicks off at Double-X on Thursday night July 2 and the venerable speed plant hosts the finale of the tour on Sunday July 5. The final ASCS Event on the schedule is on July 26 for the 13th annual “Clyde Wood Memorial”. Other special events on tap include the annual  “Race for Riley” on July 12 with the ULMA Late Models making a guest appearance. The fan favorite “Battle of the Badges” also returns on July 19.

The 600cc Micro Sprints are on tap for at least 11 nights of winged competition and one night of non-wing. Special prize drawings will be on tap for Mothers day and Fathers day. The “Racing for a Reason”, raising awareness of Autism will be June 28 and the season finale will be August 2 with the season awards presentation to culminate the evening. The entire season will be run in memory of the “Father of Double-X” Freddie Hohman. Please make plans to make this year one of the best and join us for a family tradition, “Sunday Night Thunder” at Double-X Speedway. Weekly admission to the grandstands is $10 and pit passes are $25. For ULMA the grandstand admission is $12 and pit passes $25 and for all ASCS Warrior region events the grandstand admission is $15 and pit passes are $30. Gates open weekly at 5:00 PM, starting position draw stops at 6:45PM and Hot laps are at 7:00PM.
