kentucky-lake-motor-speedwayCALVERT CITY, Kentucky – Stock car racing action resumes at Kentucky Lake Motor Speedway Saturday night, with high-paying feature races for open-wheel Modified and Crate Late Model drivers headlining the program.

The 3/8-mile dirt oval was idle on May 2 and the April 25 program was rained out after practice and qualifying had been completed.

Modifieds, which had been scheduled for a $3,000 first-place payoff on April 25, will race for $4,500 to win Saturday. Crates, which were to have competed for $1,500 to win on April 25, will race for $3,100 for first place.

Also on the program will be races for Late Model, Stock Car and Pure Stock classes.

Benton driver Tait Davenport is the only multiple winner after the first two racing programs, taking first place in the Crate feature on April 11 and again on April 18. Another Benton driver, veteran Terry English, won the Late Model feature April 11.

Modified victories this year have gone to Josh Harris of Utica, Kentucky, and Brian Shaw of Robinson, Illinois.

Charles LaPlant of East Prairie, Missouri, won the Late Model feature on April 18. Stock Car feature winners so far this year are Brian Worley and Chad Boone, while Matthew Rollins and Randy Swift have taken the checkered flag in Pure Stock.

Coming up on Friday and Saturday, May 15-16, is the Bluegrass Nationals with MARS Late Model and Summit AMS Modified series sharing headline honors. The MARS drivers will race for $3,000 to win on Friday night and $4,000 to win on Saturday, while the AMS competitors will run for $2,000 and $4,000, respectively.

Crate, Stock Car and Pure Stock races will also be on the schedule both nights.
