show-me-100-2015.jpgWAYCROSS, GA (May 15, 2015) – As the 23rd Annual Lucas Oil Show-Me 100 – Presented by ProtectTheHarvest.com approaches, anticipation is building for the first crown jewel event of the season, which will be held at Lucas Oil Speedway in Wheatland, Missouri.

This blockbuster weekend, which is co-sanctioned by the Lucas Oil Midwest Latemodel Racing Association (MLRA), kicks off Thursday, May 21st at the Diamond of Dirt Tracks. Thursday’s program is highlighted by a special $5,045-to-win, $545-to-start event for the Lucas Oil MLRA, dubbed the “Cowboy Classic” in honor of longtime MLRA Owner/Promoter Allen “Cowboy” Chancellor. The 2nd Annual Cowboy Classic will include a full program of: Time Trials, Heat Races, B-Mains, and a 45-lap main event. In addition, the Pitts Homes USRA Modifieds will compete in a complete racing program on Thursday night. Dirt Late Model Hall of Famer, Scott Bloomquist, captured the win in the inaugural Cowboy Classic in 2014.

Action on Friday, May 22nd includes the Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series with Miller Welders Time Trials, plus six, 20-lap heat races. The top (3) finishers in each heat race are locked into the $30,000-to-win, Lucas Oil Show-Me 100 on Saturday night. The balance of the field will move on to the LOLMDS B-Mains on Saturday night. Friday night racing action also includes the Race of Champions and the Hot Rod Tracker Manufacturers Dash. The Race of Champions, which pays $1,000-to-win, is made up of the previous Show-Me 100, Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series, and Lucas Oil MLRA Champions that are registered in this year’s Show-Me 100. The Hot Rod Track Manufactures Dash, featuring the fastest qualifiers in each chassis brand, also pays a $1,000 top prize. The Pitts Homes USRA Modifieds will be featured as the support class and will run their qualifying Heat Races for Saturday’s $1,000-to-win main event.

On Saturday night, consolation events for the LOLMDS and the USRA Modifieds will be held, plus the Midwest Sheet Metal Show-Me Challenge. The top-24 drivers that did not transfer into the Show-Me 100 (via preliminary events) will be eligible to start the $2,000 to win, $250 to start, non-qualifiers race – held prior to the Show-Me 100 main event. The winner of the 20-lap, Midwest Sheet Metal Show-Me Challenge has the choice of keeping their $2,000 winnings, or forfeiting their earnings to start last in the main event. The Lucas Oil Show-Me 100 main event will follow the Midwest Sheet Metal Show-Me Challenge on Saturday night. The Pitts Homes USRA Modifieds will cap off the weekend action with their $1,000-to-win main event. In 2014 Don O’Neal of Martinsville, Indiana scored his first career Lucas Oil Show-Me 100 victory over Earl Pearson Jr., Bobby Pierce, Scott Bloomquist, and Jimmy Owens.

Memorial Weekend and the Show-Me 100 is a tradition. Racers and fans alike can come out and enjoy numerous activities, including: camping, fishing, fireworks, a huge vendor midway area, and more. In addition, the award-winning, Lucas Oil Production Studios will be on hand to tape all the action for broadcast on CBS, NBC Sports, and MAVTV at a later date.
