Haubstadt, IN – May 21, 2015. – The next race scheduled to be held at the Tri-State Speedway will be on Sunday May 24th. The King of Indiana Sprint Series will be making its’ single appearance of each season to headline this show. The decision to offer the KISS race as part of the Memorial Weekend Classic was made in 2012. The series has just two remaining stops on a schedule that offers racing at 7 Hoosier dirt tracks. The 30 lap feature will pay $2,500 to win.
The Midwest Sprint Car Series will be partnering with KISS to sanction this race thus assuring fans of a stellar field of 410 non-wing sprint car drivers. With both series offering full points some drivers will be in a position to make substantial points gains that could lead to a championship in one or both series.
In addition to a double offering of sprint car talent, two other classes of race cars will also be in competition to make this the first triple header to be held at the speedway this year. The UMP Modifieds and MMSA Mini Sprints will add their brand of oval track excitement to the mix.
Winners of the KISS/MSCS features held as part of the Memorial Weekend Classic since 2012 include Jon Stanbrough, Daron Clayton, and Jeff Bland Jr. KISS Winners at the other tracks this year include Brady Short, Jon Stanbrough, and Justin Grant.
Racing will get underway at Tri-State Speedway Sunday night at 7:30 P.M. Hot laps are an hour earlier with engines to be warmed up about six o’clock. Camping is permitted for traveling fans as the race is the third of the weekend for the MSCS Sprint Cars. They are scheduled to appear at Bloomington Speedway Friday night and Lincoln Park Speedway on Saturday night.
The UMP Modified cars have been in competition at the speedway on two different occasions so far this season. The feature winners were Matt Lane and Trent Young. Lynn Ambrose is the defending champion for the MMSA heading into this year’s Winged Warrior Tour.
