MLRAWHEATLAND, MO (May 27th, 2015) – There is no rest for the stars of the Lucas Oil MLRA, with the 2nd Annual Carlson Clash taking the series to South Dakota for the first time since 2009. Park Jefferson International Speedway under the direction of A to Z Promotions will bring standalone $2,000 and $3,000 to win shows to Southeastern South Dakota this Friday and Saturday evening.

“Park Jefferson has been a big stomping ground for Late Models back to the 80’s with the Kosiski brothers and the Busch All-Stars Tour in the 90’s,” commented Park Jefferson Owner Adam Adamson. “We’re trying to revive Late Model racing in the Siouxland. We want to bring the best regional guys to our facility and get some local drivers back too.”

The 4/10 mile high banked facility has seen its share of ups and downs over the past few seasons. Ted Carlson, a well known promoter throughout the country, purchased the speedway in 1984 and ran it along with several other well known tracks including Lakeside and I-80 Speedway’s visited by the Lucas Oil MLRA. Carlson sold the track prior to the 2014 campaign.

“This race, the Carlson Clash, is meant to pay tribute to the great things Ted did for racing. He took this place from a horse track and made it very popular for dirt racing. Ted is also a big Late Model guy so we thought this would be a fitting title for the race.”

There are a limited number of $14 adult tickets available for advance purchase by pre ordering at http://www.tempotickets.com/event/Giln3J.

Fans looking for lodging might consider the Days Inn in North Sioux City by calling (605) 232-3366 and asking for the racers rate. In addition, camping will be available at the racetrack during the weekend.
