Jamie Wilson, Rusty Griffaw, Andrew Hustead, Brandon Lennox and Brandon Lambert all scored feature event wins at Quincy Raceways on Sunday May 31.

Jamie Wilson made it look easy in one of the most dominating performances ever at Quincy Raceways in the Kick Start UMP Super Late Model main event. Wilson started the twenty five lap main event from outside of row one and jumped into the lead and pulled away to a half a lap lead by the midway point of the feature event. Wilson was only slowed by a midway caution flag on lap sixteen but he took off like a rocket on the restart and lapped up to the fifth place car by the checkered flag. Wilson’s last feature event came over fourteen years ago. Jim Moon settled for a distant second followed by Mark Burgtorf in third, Denny Woodworth in fourth and Matt Santel in fifth. Woodworth, Brian Diveley and Wilson were the heat race winners.

Michael Longs four race win streak in the Miller Lite UMP Modified division came to an abrupt halt on the first lap as smoke started rolling from his engine on a first lap restart. Rusty Griffaw powered his way into the lead on the next restart and held off all challenges to take his first win at Quincy this year over Dave Wietholder in second, Kelly Kovski in third, Shane Lewis in fourth and Russ Coultas in fifth. Long and Kovski were the heat race winners.

Andrew Hustead held off Abe Huls in the Powder Coat Plus IMCA Stock Car main event to take his first ever IMCA Stock Car feature event win. Jim Lynch rallied for the third, spot followed by Michael Larsen in fourth and Beau Taylor in fifth. Larsen and Trevor Haggenbaumer were the heat race winners.

The Summy Tire and Auto Center IMCA Northern SportMod main event was the special event of the evening with the twenty two car field competing for the $500 first place money but Pat Dunker of Dunker Concrete Services came up with a twist with the Back Row Challenge issued to the first two drivers to accept the challenge in the first five rows of the feature event. Brandon Lennox and Wes Mayfield accepted the challenge and went to the rear of the field to start the twenty seven lap main event but as the crowd got into the festivities, more money was raised to bring the total bonus to win from the back row to a whopping six hundred buck giving a possible $1100 to Win for Mayfield or Lennox. Lennox and Mayfield used several early caution periods to their advantage to move up quickly into the field with Lennox working his way into third, by the twelfth lap. Lennox used the restart on lap fifteen to power around leader Tony Dunker and second place Adam Birck to take the lead. Lennox then held back Dunker challenges to take home the huge payoff at the checkered flag. Dunker settled for the second spot followed by Bobby Six in third, Tanner Klingele in fourth and Cody Henderson in fifth. Lennox, Six and Jim Gillenwater were the heat race winners.

Brandon Lambert held off Kimberley Abbot to claim his first win of the season in the IMCA Sport Compact division. Jeffery DeLonjay scored third followed by Spencer Coats in fourth and Nick DeJaynes in fifth. Anthony Grossman and Abbott were the heat race winners.

Coming up next at Quincy Raceways will be on Thursday June 4 with the PowerI Midgets and Outlaw 600’s on tap for Illinois Speedweek. The Pit Gates open at 4, Grandstands at 5 and Racing at 7:00Pm.
