Jefferson, SD June 25, 2015 – 2012 MARS champion Jesse Stovall of Billings, MO picked up his 3rd MARS win of the season and notched his 21st career MARS victory at Park Jefferson Speedway and pocketed $3,000. Stovall led every lap in the race co-sanctioned by MARS and the Corn Belt Clash Series (CBC).
Terry Phillips of Springfield, MO gained the most passing points from the heat races and set on the pole for the 35 lap feature with Stovall to his outside. Phillips followed Stovall for much of the feature but succumbed to 2014 Corn Belt Clash champion Chad Simpson of Mt. Vernon, IA on a lap twenty restart. Simpson claimed the runner-up spot and Phillips finished third.
Ryan Gustin of Marshalltown, IA started 14th on the grid and had a heated battle with Jason Utter of Columbus Junction, IA for fourth place as the laps wound down. Gustin would outduel Utter and finish fourth with Utter rounding out the top five.
Stovall drives a Black Diamond race car with a Scott Bailey engine and is sponsored by Swafford’s Service, Rushing Towing, Malvern Bank and Midwest Sheet Metal.
The MARS DIRTcar Series presented by Andy’s Frozen Custard will be back in action Friday June 26th at I-80 Speedway in Greenwood, NE.
