Dennis-Erb-Jr(CARPENTERSVILLE, ILLINOIS) Following a couple of rain-outs on the Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series tour at 201 (KY) Speedway and Muskingum County (OH) Speedway, Dennis Erb, Jr. finally returned to action with the popular national touring series on Saturday evening, July 4 at Portsmouth Raceway Park in Portsmouth, Ohio. Dennis qualified ninth fastest in Group A during time trials and later grabbed the fourth and final transfer spot through his stacked heat race. After starting the $10,000 to win ‘Independence 50’ from the inside of the seventh row, Dennis was able to blast past ten competitors during the 50-lapper on his way to a sterling third place performance behind only victor Brandon Sheppard and runner-up Jared Landers. The Carpentersville, Illinois hotshoe now finds himself seventh in the latest LOLMDS point standings following the visit to PRP.

On Sunday night, July 5, the #28 team made the trip west to the immaculate Tri-State Speedway in Haubstadt, Indiana. The UMP DIRTcar Summer Nationals tour presided over a $5,000 to win throwdown on Sunday in the Hoosier State. Dennis clicked off the fourth fastest lap in his group during qualifying prior to finishing fourth in heat race action. After rolling off from the outside of the seventh row in the 40-lap headliner, Dennis was able to pick off nine racecars en route to a strong fifth place effort to finish behind only winner Shannon Babb, Bobby Pierce, Billy Moyer, Jr., and Scott James. Full results from both weekend races can be found online at www.lucasdirt.com and www.thehelltour.com.

Next up for Dennis Erb Racing will be visits to Tri-City Speedway in Granite City, Illinois and Lucas Oil Speedway in Wheatland, Missouri with the Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series from July 10-12. On Friday night, the tripleheader weekend will kick off with the $10,000 to win ‘Battle at the Beach 50’ at Tri-City Speedway, which will be headlined by a 50-lap main event. At the state-of-the-art Lucas Oil Speedway on Saturday evening, the 9th Annual CMH ‘Diamond Nationals’ will be held and another $10,000 top prize awaits the winner.

When Sunday rolls around in the Show-Me State, the completion of the 23rd Annual Lucas Oil ‘Show-Me 100’ will wrap up a huge weekend of racing action. The final night of the crown jewel extravaganza at the Wheatland, Missouri facility was postponed due to rain back on May 23. When the 100-lapper goes green on Sunday, Dennis will have his focus on the $30,000 winner’s share, as he starts the extra-distance affair from the outside of the fifth row by virtue of finishing second in a heat race back in May. The renowned Lucas Oil Production Studios will be on hand to film all three weekend events for air on multiple television networks later in 2015.
