World-of-Outlaws-Late-Model-Series(HARRISBURG, ILLINOIS) Brian Shirley crisscrossed his home state of Illinois from July 22-25 to enter a trio of high-profile races. Things kicked off last Wednesday night at Farmer City Raceway in Farmer City, Illinois with the ‘Harland Kimler, Jr. Memorial.’ Brian qualified twelfth fastest in UMP time trials and later finished third in heat race action. After starting the $5,000 to win main event from the inside of the fifth row, Brian eventually wound up credited with a thirteenth place performance following forty green flag racing laps.

At Quincy Raceway in Quincy, Illinois on Thursday evening, the World of Outlaws Late Model Series presided over an $8,000 to win shootout. Brian clicked off the fastest lap in Group A during qualifying, won his heat race, and later finished a solid sixth in the 40-lap headliner. The hectic week then wrapped up over the weekend at Fairbury American Legion Speedway in Fairbury, Illinois, as the 26th edition of the ‘Prairie Dirt Classic’ boasted a hefty $26,000 payday. The Chatham, Illinois star placed fifth in his heat race and second in his B-Main prior to retiring after only 42 circuits in the PDC, which dropped him to twenty-second at the pay window. Complete results from all three Land of Lincoln venues can be accessed online at www.farmercityracing.com and www.woolms.com.

Both Brian Shirley and teammate Jason Riggs have opted to rest their Riggs Motorsports equipment this upcoming weekend (July 30-August 1). However, Brian has accepted an offer from Bob Cullen to pilot his #8 entry in this weekend’s ‘USA Nationals’ at Cedar Lake Speedway in New Richmond, Wisconsin. More information about the $50,000 to win crown jewel extravaganza at CLS can be accessed by clicking on www.woolms.com.
