MARYVILLE, TN (July 31, 2015)-Randy Weaver keeps putting exclamation points on his 2015 racing season. The Crossville, Tenn. driver sailed to his seventh career Schaeffer’s Oil Southern Nationals Series by Old Man’s Garage at Smoky Mountain Speedway Friday Night and picked up the $5,300 payday.

Weaver drove the Outlaw Racing Southeast, A.F. Stone Professional Medical Services, Stone Land Clearing, Mission Transport, Bailey Company and VP Racing Fuels sponsored Cornett Racing Engines powered Longhorn Chassis to the victory.

Weaver and Billy Ogle Jr. led the field of 22 to Darrell Watson’s green flag. Weaver took to the lead the opening circuits with Ogle and Weaver in hot pursuit. McDowell and Ogle would battle for the second spot and Ogle would hold the highline and the spot as Weaver would stretch his lead out to ten car lengths. By lap eight, Craig Vosbergen would work his way into the fifth position passing Donald McIntosh. Lapped traffic on lap 18 would slow Weaver momentarily but after he got around the slower traffic he again came alive and stretched out his lead and would go on for the victory in dominating fashion over Ogle, Casey Roberts, Austin Smith and Craig Vosbergen.

Four yellow flags slowed the 53-lap main event. The first yellow came on lap four as Ross White slowed in turn two with a flat tire. The lap seven caution came out for Skip Arp who slowed on the front-chute. The next yellow fell on lap 31 for Stacy Boles slowing in turn two and the final caution would come out on the 49th lap as second place runner Dale McDowell slowed coming off the fourth turn.

The tight points battle between Casey Roberts and Billy Ogle Jr. and the rest of the Southern Nationals Series regulars heads to the final points race at Tazewell (Tenn.) Speedway on Saturday Night paying $10,050-to-win. Roberts leads Ogle by eight points while Austin Smith, Donald McIntosh and a tie between Vic Hill and Craig Vosbergen round out the top five in series points.
