STORY BY: DENAE ROBINSON – WHEATLAND, MO (August 29th, 2015) – There was no shortage of fans as drivers strapped in Saturday and battled it out for their place in the final points standings at Lucas Oil Speedway on Bill Roberts Chevrolet-Buick Saturday night. Kenny Carroll snatched the championship in the Carson’s Corner NAPA Factory Stocks to redeem himself of his second place finish in 2014. Wheatland’s Mike Striegel sealed the deal in the USRA B-Mods by grabbing his first Track Championship and holding off three-year consecutive champion Kris Jackson. Justin Russell secures his position as champion in the ALPS Food Store Late Models. Jeff Cutshaw out of Bolivar, Missouri is a force to be reckoned with as he became the Pitts Homes Modifieds Track Champion for the second year in a row.

The Carson’s Corner NAPA Factory Stocks rolled onto the speedway first and foremost on Bill Roberts Season Championship Night with points leader Kenny Carroll stationed in the 5th position. Carroll finished two spots ahead of second place points sitter Shaddox and lit up the crowd with his LED underglow display when he crossed the line for the championship. Timothy Brown started on the pole and worked the bottom to lead the field to the checkered flag. Darrin Crisler advanced one position to finish second from third while swapping positions with David Hendrix, who slipped back a spot to finish third from his second starting position. Brian Schutt charged through a stacked field of drivers and made his way up to fourth after his start in the tenth position. Johnny Coats quietly moved up three spots to land in the final top-5 position.

USRA B-Mods came out next which led into a 3-man race for first between Shawn Strong, Kris Jackson, and Chase Austin which lasted the majority of the feature. Points leader Mike Striegel joined them halfway through the race after starting way in the back. Striegel attempted a last lap pass around Kris Jackson but fell half a car length short. Wheatland’s own, Mike Striegel, sealed up the 2015 Championship in the USRA B-Mods, snapping Kris Jackson’s 3-year championship streak. Jackson scored the feature win but champion Mike Striegel put on a show to come in second after starting in 19th. Chase Austin, Chad Clancy, and Shawn Strong round out the top 5 in a superior field of USRA B-Mod drivers.

Payton Looney out of Republic, Missouri started on the outside pole in the final ALPS Food Store ULMA Late Model feature of 2015 and would remain up front for the rest of the race which seems to be his normal routine at Lucas Oil Speedway. Justin Russell, first place in points, kept his position locked up as he scored the 2015 Championship. Looney crossed the line in first place with Josh Poe right on his tail. JD Hubert held his own as he started third and finished there. Todd McCoin and Clint Long finished fourth and fifth respectively. Phil Edmondson is the Keyser Manufacturing Hard Charger as he raced his way from 14th to seventh.

Jeff Cutshaw rolled out of the pit area onto the speedway in the pole position with hopes of securing his second straight Track Championship in the Pitts Homes USRA Modifieds. The road to victory seemed easy to Cutshaw as he led every lap en route to his feature win and ultimately another championship. Mitch Keeter out of Webb City, Missouri stayed within striking distance of Cutshaw but couldn’t get it done so he rested in second. Terry Schultz held off local Eric Turner to finish third which left Turner in fourth. Jason Russell started fifth and finished there.

G2 Gemini Apparel presents the Lucas Oil MLRA Dirt Late Model Racing Series as they visit they Dirt Track for their fourth time in 2015 on September 5th, for the MLRA Larry Phillips Memorial Presented by G2 Gemini Apparel. Chad Simpson captured the 2014 Lucas Oil MLRA Championship and is expected to lead a strong field of drivers into battle. The Pitts Homes USRA Modifieds will also be in action as the drivers battle for a special $1,000 to win top prize courtesy of Behlin Building Systems and Bret Givens Construction.
