(Warrensburg, MO) Central Missouri Speedway will reach an historical milestone on Saturday, September 5th when the track hosts its 50th Modified Special Payout Event since 1998. The big three summer holidays always bring added excitement to the speedway for drivers and fans with extra money and bragging rights on the line and this year’s Labor Day weekend special events will add to the track’s legacy and contribution to Modified racing in the Greater Kansas City metro. The weekend serves as the final night of action for the 2015 season.

The past winner’s list from Labor Day weekend racing at CMS in the Modified division reads like a who’s who in the history of Kansas City area racing. The likes of current national USRA point’s leader Terry Schultz and still active drivers Richard Layne, Aaron Marrant, Tim Karrick, and Jim Moody have all claimed a fall win at the speedway to join the list of other winners from years gone by including Dave Meyer, who has more fall wins than any other driver with 3. Justin Boney, Joe Walker, Tom Charles, Dustin Boney, and Johnny Bone, Jr. also have fall CMS wins to their credit. Note, mention of driver name does not guarantee race appearance.

This year, the Labor Day Weekend of events also serves as the final two race nights of the 2015 season. USRA Modifieds headline the weekend action with a pair of $1,500-to-win main/$180-to-start events on Saturday the 5th and Sunday the 6th. The events are two separate programs featuring two complete payouts! In addition, Track Champions will be crowned on Saturday night for the Street Stock, B-Mod, and Pure Stock divisions while the Modified title will be decided Sunday night.

Season points will end for the Street Stock, B-Mod, and Pure Stock divisions on Saturday, September 5th, both Saturday and Sunday will be track points-earning nights and USRA points-earning nights for Modifieds. Also on the bill throughout the weekend, ULMA Late Models join in on the action Saturday. USRA Modifieds and USRA B-Mods, Allstar Midgets, and $750-to-Win Lightning Sprints close out the weekend on Sunday, the 6th.

All Labor Day weekend information is easily accessible at www.centralmissourispeedway.net. Look for the “Labor Day Weekend Race Info Headquarters” tab from the main page. There you will find a frequently asked questions document, an event flyer, admission, race program, and car class payout information along with much more general information about racing on both nights.

There are no track registration fees in any class. All pit passes are $35 each night. USRA Modified drivers have an entry fee of $50 if they have raced in at least two weekly shows (May and July specials do not count) prior to September 5th in a Modified, if they don’t meet these criteria, the entry is $75. All other car classes pay pit pass only or for USRA B-mods, a temporary USRA License if they do not already have one, this is in effect for Sunday night only. Extra start money is on the line for B-Mods on Sunday in which the start money is $75.

On Saturday, September 5th weekly track points will be awarded to USRA Modifieds, Street Stocks, B-Mods and Pure Stocks. In the URSA Modified division, Terry Schultz from Sedalia leads the Championship point’s race by a mere 21 points ahead of Tim Karrick and only 24 points in front of Gunnar Martin.

In the Pure Stock division, Jeremiah Wilson from Concordia has a solid handle on the points lead with Leroy Morrison just 71 points behind. B-Mod drivers are looking up at Jacob Ebert as he sits atop the standings with Troy Carlyle in second. For the Street Stock division, Brett Wood leads Troy Turley by just 33 points after experiencing a few setbacks over the last two weeks.

ULMA Late Models return for the final time this season amidst another tight point’s battle between its drivers. Jon Melloway and Todd McCoin are separated by just 8 points with two ULMA points-earning races remaining. They are expected to compete along with a host of others including winners from earlier this season, defending ULMA Champion Jon Binning and 2008 ULMA Champion Jason Bodenhamer. ULMA is partnered with the Homes for Our Troops Organization, who will be on hand throughout the night raising money and awareness for returning war veterans.

Shad Badder has agreed to bring his two-seater late model to the track on both nights to help raise money and awareness for the cause and chances to ride in the two-seater car will be sold on race night. Badder will pilot the two-seater rides during the intermission breaks each night.

On Sunday, USRA Modifieds return for another $1,500 to-win//$180-to-start special event with the track Championship points on the line for the USRA Modifieds. USRA B-mods join the program when national USRA points will be awarded to participating drivers on Sunday. Both Modified and B-mod drivers must be USRA Members to compete or purchase the $10 USRA temporary license at the track. B-Mods will compete for USRA national points only, not track points (those end on Saturday, the 5th).

The Allstar Midgets Series returns to CMS for their second appearance this season and will earn points per their series rules. Also returning to CMS are the Lightning Sprints, in which drivers will compete for a special $750 to-win and $100 to start feature event presented by Jayhawk Millwright!
