Inside Line Promotions – SOMERTON, Ariz. (Jan. 7, 2016) – Parity has once again reigned supreme during the 2nd annual Winter Heat Sprint Car Showdown at Cocopah Speedway, where a different driver has won each of the first three features during the 2016 edition.

Victories have also been spread throughout the field during heat race, qualifier and B Main action. A total of 20 drivers (out of the 47 who have competed in at least one round) have secured at least one victory during the Winter Heat Sprint Car Showdown.

Only two drivers have won more than one heat race and the same can be said in qualifier competition. Additionally, the six total B Mains contested have been claimed by different drivers.

“We are very proud to have a very diverse field of the top racers in the country,” Cocopah Speedway General Manager Greg Burgess said. “There was a lot of parity throughout the Winter Heat Sprint Car Showdown last year and we’re seeing the same thing again in 2016. I think it’s great for the fans.”

NASCAR star Kyle Larson is the only driver to have won a heat race, qualifier and main event. He currently sits atop the event standings, but will miss the final two races this Friday and Saturday because of a prior commitment to testing for the Rolex 24 at Daytona in Florida.

Larson also leads the most feature laps led with Dale Blaney ranked second. Blaney, who led the distance to capture the opening round last Friday, is the only feature winner to not have won a heat race or a qualifier.

Craig Dollansky is the only competitor to register a heat race, qualifier and B Main triumph.

The next Winter Heat Sprint Car Showdown round is scheduled for Friday with the finale on Saturday. Opening Ceremonies is slated for 7 p.m. (Mountain) each night.
