Cleveland, Tennessee (01/12/16) – Jimmy Elliott piloted his brand-new, Car Smart Auto Sales #J39 Elliott’s Tire Center/ Longhorn Race Car into battle over the weekend in the 25th Annual Ice Bowl, where he registered a 5th place finish.
Jimmy Elliott made the trip to Talladega Short Track (Eastaboga, Alabama) on Thursday for the 10th Annual Ice Bowl. Drawing sixty-five Crate Late Models for the NeSmith Winter sanctioned event, Jimmy recorded the fastest time in qualifying, setting him up with a front row starting spot for his heat. Following a heat race win, Elliott was slated to start on the pole for the $3,000-to-win feature. After taking the lead for several laps, Jimmy Elliott fell back to a 4th place finish behind William Thomas, Ray Cock, and Chase Edge with John Owenby completing the top five.
We had a great car all weekend, but just came up a little bit short in the feature,” commented Elliott. “I would definitely like to thank my dad, my wife, John Brogdon, Brian Bivens, Donnie Webb, Martinez, Daniel Gardner, Tony, and Michael Courtney for helping this past weekend and making everything possible.”
