Wheatland, Missouri (March 29, 2016) – Engines will roar to life for the first time in 2016 at Lucas Oil Speedway on Saturday with a preseason Test and Tune session from 2-6 p.m.
Drivers in all of the Lucas Oil Speedway divisions – ALPS Food Store ULMA Late Models, Pitts Homes USRA Modifieds, Ozark Golf Cars USRA B-Mods and Carson’s Corner NAPA Street Stocks – will have the opportunity to get practice time ahead of the new season.
Pit passes for drivers and crew members are $20 and spectator grandstand admission is free. Limited concessions, along with restrooms, will be available behind the backstretch grandstands adjacent to the pit area.
“With a terrific weather forecast for this weekend, this is an ideal opportunity for our drivers to get some testing done,” Lucas Oil Speedway General Manager Dan Robinson said. “Fans eager to see cars on the track for the first time in 2016 are invited to come out as we’ll open up the grandstands to them for free. It should be a fun day.”
The Lucas Oil Speedway Parts Store also will be open with a full assortment of Lucas Oil Products, Hoosier Late Model Tires, American Racer USRA Modified tires and Sunoco Racing fuel available for purchase.
The Rex Merritt Racing School, originally scheduled in conjunction with the practice day, has been cancelled.
The season opener at Lucas Oil Speedway is set for April 8-9 with the 3rd annual Lucas Oil MLRA Spring Nationals. Pitts Homes USRA Modifieds and Carson’s Corner NAPA Street Stocks also will be on the program both nights.
Opening night for the Budweiser Weekly Championship Series, with racing in all four weekly divisions, is set for April 16.
