(CARPENTERSVILLE, ILLINOIS) Dennis Erb, Jr. and his #28 team rolled into LaSalle Speedway in LaSalle, Illinois on March 25-26 for the two-day ‘Thaw Brawl’ extravaganza. The MARS DIRTcar Series, Corn Belt Clash Late Model Series, and American Late Model Series tri-sanctioned the doubleheader weekend, which kicked off on Friday night with a $5,000 to win program. Dennis was slowed by hitting a hole in the racetrack during his qualifying effort and later placed eleventh in his heat race and ninth in his B-Main. Unfortunately, the Carpentersville, Illinois native was not able to make the start in the 50-lap feature event.
On Saturday evening, a whopping $15,000 winner’s check was on the line in the ‘Thaw Brawl’ finale at the 1/4-mile bullring. Dennis finished eighth in his heat race and twelfth in his B-Main, but later received a Past Champions Provisional to gain access into the 75-lap headliner. He then blasted his way up inside of the top ten during the main event to salvage the weekend with a steady eighth place performance. Dennis Erb Racing will be back on the Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series trail this upcoming weekend (April 1-2) in a pair of marquee events in Georgia and Alabama. The national touring series will host their first-ever shows on Friday night at Boyd’s Speedway in Ringgold, Georgia and on Saturday evening at East Alabama Motor Speedway in Phenix City, Alabama. A $10,000 top prize will be up for grabs at Boyd’s, while the annual running of the ‘Bama Bash’ boasts a $12,000 payday on Saturday at EAMS.
