St. Francois County Raceway Opening Night Race Recap, 4-2-2016.
It’s been a long and tiring winter, but we were very excited to finally kick off our 2016 Season here at The Fastest Bullring in Missouri! 79 awesome race cars and Thousands of amazing fans came out to brave the strong winds and chilly temps. NASCAR Veteran Kenny Wallace and ASCS National Sprint driver Brad Loyet were a couple of those drivers who came to try out the new track surface.

SuperStreet Driver David Baker (00) started the year off right, picking up the checkers in heat race #1 and later racing his way to his first ever victory lane celebration at SFCR! Heat 1 had the 99 car of Chuck Adams coming in 2nd behind Baker, followed by 81H Mike Hurst, 5B Mike Williams, and the 44R of Ricky McCullough. The 71 of Joe Merritt won the 2nd Heat race, followed by the 94 of Jason Neel, 45 Marshall Yount, 32 Robert Hicks, and 21w Brad Callahan. Baker’s Feature Win victory lane celebration was an exciting and well deserved moment for him and the crew. He was followed across the finish line by Jason Neel, Joe Merritt, Chuck Adams, and Marshall Yount.

In the A-Modified division, Jeff Asher (56) started the year off with a strong showing, picking up his Heat Race(1) win over Brent Thompson(18), Danny Resinger(15), Kasey Nations(26), and Kenny Wallace(36). Heat Race #2 was won by the 25S of Greg Swaringim, followed by team mate Tim Nash(7), Billy Smith(14), Terry Johnson(32J), and Bobby Burrows(99). Heat Race #3 saw Chase Copeland(110) carrying the checkers, ahead of Tim Radford(10R), Bobby Despain(227), Chuck Huff(47), and Dean Resinger(51).

Tim Nash won the A-Mod Dash, with Swaringim finishing 2nd, Radford 3rd, Thompson 4th, Copeland 5th, and Jeff Asher lost a bolt in the throttle linkage causing him to forfeit that race early.
Keeping with the 1&2 Finishes all night, Greg Swaringim picked up the feature win with Tim Nash 2nd, Brent Thompson 3rd, Kenny Wallace 4th, and Kasey Nations 5th.

In the 410 Winged Sprint Car Division, Andy McElhannon (#42) of Nesbit Mississippi picked up the win in Heat Race #1, followed by the 72 of Kevin Petty, 7c Joe B. Miller, 79J Jacob Patton, and 16G Scottie Gretzmacher. Heat Race #2 was won by Sunset Hills, MO driver Brad Loyet (o5), followed by the Montgomery Brothers Joey (12x) finishing 2nd and Timmy (32) finishing 3rd, Kent Buckley(87) 4th, and Kasey Burch(20) finishing 5th. Heat Race 3 had Farmington’s Tommy Worley Jr(97) picking up the win, followed by Jimmy Bridgeman(14T), Ryan Kempin(2K), Robbie Standridge(22), and Adam Parmely(21P). Worley won the dash, followed by Loyet, McElhannon, Joey Montgomery, Kevin Petty, and Jimmy Bridgeman had a last lap mishap due to a broken shock mount and turned his racecar over after leading the whole race.

The B-main had 9 cars line up for one more shot at making the show. Jeff Wurst(88) won the B, followed by Dustin Adams(3), John Epperson(606), Joey Boyd(67), and Tim Taylor(99).
Brad Loyet found the fast line around the new surface and raced his way to the winners circle in the A-Main, followed by Worley, McElhannon, Kempin, and Gretzmacher.

In the B-Modified Division, Dusty Homan(10) picked up the first heat race win over team mate Shane Blair(1), Jeremy Welborn(27W), Mark Crady(70), and Colby Benson(10B). Heat Race #2 went to Kyle Jarrett(10X), followed by Chuck Adams(99), Darryll Dickerson(44), Scott Winters(67), and Aaron Canterberry(19C). Heat Race #3 saw Kodi Savage(13) carrying the checkers, winning over Scott Jarrett(4M), Eric Sarakas(2), Clint Ladd(56), and Rob Umfleet(57). Homan parked it in victory lane winning the feature over Blair, Savage, Adams, and Kyle Jarrett.
