After last week’s scheduled opening event for the Tenth-Anniversary Season of Lucas Cattle Company ULMA racing was washed out, drivers are eager for Friday and Saturday to arrive for the first two championship points-earning races of the season.

Callaway Raceway action takes place Friday with the venue’s first event of the year. Todd McCoin is expected to defend his track championship from last year. Gates are scheduled to open at 5 with hot laps at 7 and racing at 7:30. The track’s physical location is 7419 County Road 405, Fulton, MO 65251. For additional information call (573) 592-7795 or (573) 642-6580. The website is available at www.callawayraceways.com.

One night after the Friday action at Callaway Raceways, ULMA drivers have an opportunity to compete at a new ULMA-affiliated track, I-35 Speedway in Winston, Missouri. The 3/8-mile semi-banked oval is located 10 miles north of Cameron on SR 6 at Exit 64 on Interstate 35 north. The physical location is 13141 SR6, Winston, Missouri 64689.

The Saturday marks the second week of the new season for the track with gates scheduled to open at 4:30, Grandstands at 5, Driver’s Meeting at 6, Hot Laps at 6:15, and racing at 7:00 p.m.  Admission prices are as follows: Adults $15, Seniors (62 and over) $13, Kids 7-12 years of age $6, Kids under six years of age free. Pit Passes $30, Suites $20. For additional information call 660-749-5317 or visit their website at www.i-35speedway.net.

For both events this weekend and all events going forward this season, drivers must possess a valid ULMA license or purchase the $10 temporary license while on site at each event. Drivers are highly encouraged to make their way to the ULMA website at www.ulmaracing.com and complete the licensing paperwork prior to checking in at weekend events, printing it out, and bringing it with them to the tracks they will race at this season.

Drivers must be in compliance with ULMA Rules and Regulations as written. I-35 Speedway general race rules and procedures will be in effect for ULMA drivers. ULMA driver attendance at the driver’s meeting is mandatory, the meeting is scheduled to begin at 6 p.m.

Eight different tracks dot the ULMA schedule this season including Lucas Oil Speedway in Wheatland, Missouri; Randolph County Raceway in Moberly, Missouri; Callaway Raceway in Fulton, Missouri; Central Missouri Speedway in Warrensburg, Missouri; Double XX Speedway in California, Missouri; Lakeside Speedway in Kansas City, Kansas; I-35 Speedway in Winston, Missouri; and for the first time since 2012, Missouri State Fair Speedway in Sedalia, Missouri as part of the Missouri State Fair.
