American-Modified-SeriesTazewell, TN (July 2, 2016)- The Summit Racing Equipment American Modified Series would return to Tazewell Speedway in Tazewell, TN on Saturday evening and Trent Young of Hopkinsville, KY would proceed to score back-to-back victories for the weekend as the second-generation driver would also pick up his third series win of the year and maintain the series points lead. The win would be worth $3,000 and would again come behind the wheel of the Snap-On Tools/Mitchell Tools and Motorsports/Ted Brown’s Quality Paint and Body/R&S Equipment/Emma’s Place/Young’s Well Service sponsored #10Y Bandit Race Car, Stanton Race Engines powered mount.

Trent Young would take the lead at the start of the 40 lap, $3,000 to win main event and proceed to dominate throughout much of the event. A caution on lap 10 and pair of caution flags on lap 14 and lap 21 for Austin Atkins would really be the whole thing that would slow down the onslaught on Young on the evening. Former NASCAR competitor David Stremme would be in competition and would tke runner-up honors about a half-straightaway back from Young, while Matt Cooper claim the final podium position with his third place effort. Don Adams would finish fourth, while top qualifier Brad Hall completed the top five.

The remainder of the top ten at the completion of the Tazewell Speedway A-Main would be Josh Harris, Shon Flanary, Wayne James, Stanley Donahoo, and Mark Lamont. The event would slowed by three caution periods.

In preliminary action, Brad Hall was the Quick Car Racing Products top qualifier among 20 entries at 13.046 seconds. Summit Racing Equipment heat one went to Trent Young, while Josh Harris scored the win in Fast Shafts heat two. Hypercoils heat three went to David Stremme, with Matt Cooper winning Frankland Racing Equipment heat four. There were no Out-Pace Racing Products B-Mains contested.

The next events for the Summit Racing Equipment American Modified Series will take place on Friday July 22 at Moler Raceway Park in Williamsburg, OH and Saturday July 23 at Ponderosa Speedway in Junction City, KY. Both events will pay $1,500 to win and $200 to start.
