Hello race fans! This is the St. Francois County Raceway Auto Plaza Group Race Recap for the Queen’s Royale two night show.

FRIDAY

Friday night of the two night Queen’s Royale was a great show on its own. Up first is the Super Street class. The Super Streets had two heats on the night. Heat number one was quite a show as seven started but only four managed to finish the race. Taking the win in heat number one was the 12 car driven by Dom Wadlow.  Finishing behind him was Joe Merritt in his 71 ride while David Baker finished third in the 00 car.

Heat number two was a different kind of race from heat number one all seven of the drivers that started the race managed to finish the race. Taking the win in heat number two, all the way from the outside of the second row, was the 40 car driven by Kevin Mosier. Robbie Williams finished second in the 34 car with the number 99 of Chuck Adams finishing in third.

The main event was a great show for the race fans that came out to watch live. Taking home the trophy was Kevin Mosier in his 40 car. Not far behind him was the 99 car driven by Chuck Adams. Jason Neel brought home the third place finish in his 94n car with Robbie Williams directly behind him in his 34 ride. David Baker brought home the fifth place finish in his back up 00 car due to him flipping his car on the front stretch the weekend before.

Up next is the A-modified class and they also put on an amazing show. In the first of three heats, the 56x of Jeff Asher took the first place finish. Timmy Hill finished directly behind him in the 51x car while Greg Swaringim finished third place in his 25s car.

The win in heat number two went to the 34 car driven by Dave Armstrong. He did not win without a battle because Brent Thompson was hot on his tail in his 18 car. Finishing third and also right there in the battle was Mike Savage in his 13 car.

Heat number three was won by Billy Smith in his number 14 car. Tim Nash finished second place in his number 7 car after starting on the inside of the second row. Finishing behind him was Danny Ems in the 36 car.

Up next for the A-modified class is the dash. The top two finishers in each heat race redraw to see where they start in the dash, from there they race to see where they start in the front three rows of the main event. Taking the win in the dash was the 14 car driven by Billy Smith. Tim Nash finished second in the 7 car while Dave Armstrong and his 34 car finished third place.

The main event was another great race to watch. Billy Smith took home the trophy in his 14 car as well as taking home the 2016 Track Points Championship. Finishing in second place was Tim Nash in the 7 car while Timmy Hill and his 51x car finished in third place. Fourth place went to the 18 car driven by Brent Thompson. Bring home the fifth place finish was the 56x which was driven by Jeff Asher.

The next class is the B-modified class. Once again, this class also put on a great show. There were 25 B-modifieds in attendance for Friday night’s show and only 20 are allowed to make the show so it was a race to make the main event. In heat number one, Jeremy Welborn took the lead and never looked back and won in his 27w car. Finishing in second place was the 4g car driven by Eddie Gross while Darryll Dickerson finished in third place in the 44 car.

Heat number two was won by the number 147 car which was driven by Kyle Stolzer. Second place went to the 2016 B-modified Points Track Champion Kodi Savage in his number 13 car. Bringing in the third place finish was the number 8 car driven by Eddie Lowry.

The winner of heat number three was the 327 car driven by Chuck Goodman. Behind him was the 99 car which was driven by Chuck Adams and behind him in the third place position was the 3d car with Lou Driemeier behind the wheel.

Shane Blair took the victory in heat number four in his new number 18 car. Finishing in second place was the 10x car with Kyle Jarrett behind the wheel. Bringing in the third place finish in the fourth heat was the 36 car which was driven by Danny Ems.

Due to there being more cars in attendance than what was allowed to make the show, a last chance qualifier, which is also called a b-main, had to be ran. Four drivers advanced from the b-main to the main event. The first driver to do so was the 19c of Aaron Canterberry. Finishing second and also advancing to the main event was Colby Benson in his 10b car. John Crump finished third in the b-main. The last transferring position went to the 13d car of Dylan Driemeier.

The main event was very interesting to watch. In the middle of the race, the 99 of Chuck Adams went for a wild ride in the air on the front stretch after being hit by the 147 car when something broke. After all the accidents, the 18 car of Shane Blair took home the trophy and the extra money donated by a fan and sponsor. Finishing in second place was the 27w driven by Jeremy Welborn. Darryll Dickerson brought home the third place finish with Kyle Jarrett finishing right behind him in fourth place in his 10x car. Finishing in the fifth place position was the 4g which was driven by Eddie Gross. Someone also donated some money to the driver that managed to do the most passing, the “Hard Charger” award. The hard charger award went to the 10b of Colby Benson as he started 18th and finished 12th.

The class that almost everyone was there to watch was the sprint cars. This year St. Francois County Raceway had the National Sprint League (NSL) in attendance and they put on an absolutely amazing show. Heat number one was won by the number 21 sprint car driven by NSL driver Brian Brown. Second place went to the 10x of Dakota Hendrickson while Parker Price-Miller took third in the 2x car.

Heat number two was won local racer Jacob Patton in his 79j car. Hunter Schuerenberg took second place in the 20n car while Dusty Homan finished in third place in the 10 car.

The third heat was also won by a local driver. Kory Bales won this heat in his number 5 car. Jerrod Hull finished in second place in the 12 car while Joe B. Miller rounded out the top three in the 51b car.

Heat number four was also won by a local driver. Scottie Gretzmacher and the 16g car won this heat after pulling away from Ian Madsen who finished second in his 18 car. Jimmy Hurley finished third in the 35 car.

The fifth heat was won by another local driver making four out of the five heat race winners all locals. The fifth heat race winner was Tommy Worley Jr. After his half-track lead, Steve Short took second place in the 10k car while Brooke Tatnell took third in the 55 car.

Due to there being 38 sprint cars, two different b-mains had to be ran. B-main number one was won by the 79j of Jacob Patton. Joey Boyd Finished in second in the 67 car while Steve Short finished in third in the 10k car.

B-main number two was won by the 10 car of Dusty Homan. Shane Golobic finished in second place in the 17w car while Tasker Phillips finished in third place in the 7w car.

The main event was all about the locals as they took the top four positions. Taking home the $3,000 check was the 35c car which was driven by Joey Montgomery. Second place went to Joey’s brother Timmy Montgomery in the 32 car. Kent Buckley brought home the third place position in his 87 car while Tommy Worley Jr. finished in fourth in the 97 car. Fifth place was the first NSL driver in the results. Fifth place went to the 11k car driven by Kraig Kinser.

SATURDAY

Saturday night’s car count was as high as 120 cars total spread out through four classes. Up first is the Super Street class. Finishing in third was the 76 car of Travis Goodman.

Heat number two was won by the number 30 car of Dom Wadlow. Behind him was the 34 car of Robbie Williams in second place while Joe Merritt finished third in the 71 car.

The fifth and final heat race was won by the 27w car driven by Jeremy Welborn. Danny Ems took second place in the 36 car while third place went to the 4d car.

Jeremy Welborn finished in fourth place in the 27w car while Eddie Gross and the 4g rounded up the top five. The sixth place finisher was the B-modified Hard Charger Award winner and that was the 15b of Terry Bolin.

The B-main winner was Tommy Worley Jr. in the 97 car. Tasker Phillips finished in second place in the 7w car while Robbie Standridge finished third in the 17* car.

The main event was a battle between several drivers throughout the entire race. Taking the Queen’s Royale Sprint Feature win, the big $5,000 check, the trophy and the signature cowboy hat was the 17w of Shane Golobic after a last lap pass on second place finisher Parker Price-Miller in the 2x on the back straight away. Third place went to Ian Madsen in the 18 car. Brian Brown took home the fourth place finish in the 21 car while Kraig Kinser finished in fifth place in the 11k car.
