Hello to all you race fans out there! This is your St. Francois County Raceway Race Recap for the Randy Mathews Memorial Race. This recap is brought to you by Interstate Battery. The Randy Mathews Memorial Race was a special show for the Super Street class since that was a class that Randy was most involved with throughout his life. The Super Streets had an extra pay out for the winner and the main event was a little longer than usual. The daughters of Randy Mathews also had the drivers in the Super Street class vote for someone in their class for the Randy Mathews Sportsmanship Award. The drivers voted for David Baker, the driver of the 00 Super Street and the 2016 Super Street Track Champion. The Power Wheels were also in attendance for the second time this season. The winner for the Power Wheels race was, for the second time, Jimmy Miller. Congratulations Jimmy! Now time to get on to the action packed racing for the night.

Up first for the Randy Mathews Memorial Race was the B-Modified class. There were 21 cars in attendance divided into three heat races. Heat race number one had seven cars scheduled to take the green flag but only six cars did so. Finishing out front of the rest was Kyle Jarrett in the number 10 car. Second place went to the 2 car of Eric Sarakas after starting in the six position. Crossing the finish line in third place was the 44 of Darryll Dickerson.

Heat race number two had seven cars take the green flag with Kyle Stolzer finishing out front after starting fifth in the 147 car. Second place went to Shane Blair in the 10s while Lou Driemeier crossed the finish line in third place in the 3d car.

Heat race number three also had seven cars take the green flag but only three cars crossed the finish line. The first of the three to cross the finish line was the 88s of Allen Meyer. Second place went to the 90 of Paul Hovis with Duane Eckhoff finishing in third place in the 12e car.

The main event for the B-Modified class was a 15 lap race with the 10s car of Shane Blair finishing up front and the 147 of Kyle Stolzer finishing in second place. Third place went to the 4g of Eddie Gross after starting in the 11th position with Lou Driemeier finishing in fourth in the 3d car. Crossing the finish line in fifth place and winning the BSB Manufacturing Go Fast Award for the night for passing 16 cars was the 05 car of Mike Savage.

Up next for the Randy Mathews Memorial Race was the featured Super Street class. There were 21 Super Streets in attendance divided into three heat races. Heat number one had seven cars take the green flag with the 99 of Chuck Adams finishing out front in the 99 car. Second place went to the 76 of Travis Goodman with the 40 car of Kevin Mosier finishing in third place.

Heat race number two also had seven cars take the green flag with the 71 of Joe Merritt finishing out front after a fourth place starting position. Second place went to the 70 car of Mark Crady with Ricky McCullough finishing in third place in the 44r car.

Heat race number three was scheduled to have seven cars start the race but only six of them took the green flag. Finishing in first place was the 9c of Adam Canterberry. Taking second place was the 11 car of Matt Brown with the number 32 car of Robert Hicks finishing in third place.

The main event for the Super Street class was a 20 lap race instead of the traditional 15 laps. Crossing the line in first and taking home the extra pay out was the 99 of Chuck Adams. Second place went to the 76 of Travis Goodman with Joe Merritt finishing in third place in the 71 car. Fourth place went to the 70 car with Mark Crady behind the wheel. Bring his car across the finish line in fifth place was Brian Patten in the 8 car. The BSB Manufacturing Go Fast Award Winner for the Super Street class was the 572 of Keith Young for starting 19th and passing 10 cars to finish 9th.

As usual, running third was the Sprint Car class. Once again, there were 21 cars in attendance for the Sprint Cars and they were divided into three heat races. Heat race number one had seven cars take the green flag. Finishing in first place was the 32 of Tim Montgomery. Second place went to the 35 of Joey Montgomery after a seventh place starting position. Third place went to the 17* with Robbie Standridge behind the wheel.

Heat race number two had seven cars scheduled to take the green flag but only five managed to do so. Of those five, the 87 of Kent Buckley finished in first place with the 67 of Joey Boyd finishing in second. Third place went to the 88 of Jeff Wurst.

The third and final heat race for the Sprint Cars also had seven cars take the green flag. Jason Keith was the winner of heat race number three in the 28 car with Steve Short finishing in second place in the 18s car. Crossing the finish line in third place was the 99g of Scottie Gretzmacher.

Like always, the Sprint Cars ran a dash to see who starts where within the first three rows. Coming out on top and starting on the pole in the main event was the 18s of Steve Short. Finishing in second place was the 32 of Tim Montgomery with Jason Keith finishing in third place in the 28 car.

The 25 lap main event was an action packed race to say the least. Coming out on top was last week’s runner-up, Joey Montgomery in the 35 car. Second place was the 67 of Joey Boyd with the 87 of Kent Buckley finishing in third place. Fourth place went to the 17* of Robbie Standridge with Tim Montgomery crossing the line in fifth place in the number 32 car. The Hard Charger Award Winner for this race was the 10 car of Dusty Homan for starting 15th and passing 5 cars to finish 10th.

The last class for the night was the A-Modified class. There were 17 cars in attendance divided into three heat races. Heat race number one had six cars take the green flag. Crossing the finish line in first place was the 7 car of Tim Nash with Jeremy Greenwalt finishing in second place in the 18x car. Third place went to the 26j of Jeff Frohwitter.

Heat race number two also had six cars take the green flag. This race was very interesting because only one car was able to finish the race. That car was the 14 of Billy Smith. Second place went to the last car to scratch out and that was Eric Edgar in the c16 car. Third place went to the 13 of Mike Savage.

The last heat race for the night had five cars scheduled to take the green flag but only four did so. Finishing on top as the 25s of Kodi Savage with Tommy Worley finishing in second place in the im56 car. Third place went to Terry Johnson in the 32j.

The A-Modified main event was the closer for the night of action packed racing. 20 laps of competitive racing for the fans in the stands and finishing on top was the 14 car on Billy Smith. Second place went to the 7 car of Tim Nash with Kodi Savage finishing in third in the 25s. Crossing the finish line in fourth place was the 26j of Jeff Frohwitter and bringing home the fifth place finish was the 18x of Jeremy Greenwalt. The BSB Manufacturing Go Fast Award Winner for the A-Modified class was the 56 car for starting 17th and passing 11 cars to finish 6th.
