Hello to all you racing fans out there. This is your St. Francois County Raceway Race Recap for June 17th, 2017. This recap is sponsored by Turner Chevrolet. St. Francois County Raceway always has something special for the fan and this night was no exception whatsoever. One special event was the giveaway drawings for all the fathers out there as well as our regular giveaways. The other special event was the Midwest Open Wheel Association (MOWA) Sprint Car Series. The MOWA Sprint Car Series came into town to take on the St. Francois County Raceway Local Sprint Car drivers. Both the MOWA drivers and our local drivers always put on a good show against each other and that is exactly what happened this time as well.

Up first for night number seven of racing was the Super Street class. There were only 14 Super Streets in attendance divided into two heat races. The first heat races had seven cars take the green flag and finishing up top was the 94n of Jason Neel with Tony Wyatt finishing in second place in the 67 car. Third place went to Marty McCullough in the 44m car.

Heat race number two also had seven cars take the green flag. Coming across the finish line in first was Joe Merritt in the 71 car after starting in fourth place. Second place went to the 23 of Kevin Mosier with Brad Callahan finishing in third place in the 21w car.

The 15 lap main event for the Super Streets was won by Kevin Mosier in the 23 car with Joe Merritt finishing in second place in the number 71 car. Third place went to Robert Hicks in the 32 car. Hicks was also the Super Street BSB Manufacturing Go Fast Award Winner for passing five car. Fourth place went to Tony Wyatt in the 67 car with Rookie of the Year contender Keith Young finishing in fifth place in the 572 car.

Up next on the night was the A-Modified class. There were 13 A-Modifieds in attendance divided into two heat races. Heat number one had seven cars scheduled to start but only six took the green flag. Finishing in first place was the 7 car of Tim Nash with the 56 of Jeff Asher finishing in second place. Third place went to the 14 car of Billy Smith after starting in the sixth place position.

Heat race number two had six cars take the green flag. Jeremy Greenwalt finished out front in the 18x car with Kodi Savage finishing in second place in the 25s car. Third place went to the 4m of Scott Jarrett.

The main event for the A-Modifieds was a 20 lap battle with Tim Nash finishing in first place in the 7 car. Second place went to the number 14 car with Billy Smith behind the wheel. Finishing in third place was the 18x of Jeremy Greenwalt with Jeff Asher finishing in fourth place in the 56 car. Crossing the finish line in fifth place was the 12m car of Ben Gerdes. The BSB Manufacturing Go Fast Award Winner for the A-Modifieds was Super Dave Chilton in the 69x car for starting 12th, passing five cars to finish seventh.

Running third on the night was the MOWA Sprint Car Series and the St. Francois County Raceway Sprint Car Drivers. There were 28 Sprint Cars in attendance divided into four heat races. Heat number one had seven cars take the green flag. Finishing out front of heat race number one was the 17* of Robbie Standridge. Finishing in second place was the 1m car of Jimmy Moughan with Joey Montgomery finishing in third place in the 35 car.

Heat race number two only had six of the scheduled seven cars take the green flag. The winner of heat race number two was the 05 car driven by Brad Loyet. Finishing in second place was the 79j car of Jacob Patton. Third place went to Joey Boyd in the 67 car.

Heat race number three also only had six of the seven cars take the green. Taking the checkered flag was Mike Terry Jr. in the 85 car with Jeff Wurst finishing in second place in the 88 car. Crossing the finish line in third place was the 87 car of Kent Buckley.

The fourth and final heat race for the Sprint Cars also only had six cars take the green flag. Bringing in the heat race win was the 18s of Steve Short after starting in the sixth place position. Finishing in second place was the 21 of Carson Short with Dustin Adams finishing in third place in the number 3 car.

The 25 lap main event was an action packed race to say the least and coming out on top was the 05 car of Brad Loyet. Second place went to the 87 car of Kent Buckley with Robbie Standridge finishing in third place in the 17* car. Fourth place went to Steve short in the 18s car. Crossing the finish line in fifth place was the 67 car of Joey Boyd. Picking up the Hard Charger Award for the night was the 42 car of Cory Bruns after starting 16th, passing 9 cars and finishing seventh.

The last class for the night was the B-Modified class. There were 21 cars in attendance divided into three heat races. Heat number one had seven cars scheduled to start but only six took the green flag. Finishing out front was the 3d car of Lou Driemeier after starting in the fifth place spot. Second place went to the 44 car of Darryll Dickerson with the 05 of Mike Savage finishing in third place.

Heat race number two had seven cars scheduled to take the green flag but only five cars did so. Crossing the finish line in first place was the 4g car of Eddie Gross. Second place went to the 27w car of Jeremy Welborn. Finishing in third place was the 2 car with Eric Sarakas behind the wheel.

The third and final heat race had seven cars take the green flag. Taking the checkered flag was the 10s car of Shane Blair. Second place went to the 147 of Kyle Stolzer with Kyle Jarrett finishing in third place in the 10 car.

The B-Modified main event was a 15 lap race with Shane Blair finishing in first place in the 10s car after a late race pass on the second place finisher Eddie Gross in the 4g car. Third place went to the 147 car of Kyle Stolzer after a sixth place start. Crossing the finish line in fourth place was the 3d car of Lou Driemeier with Kyle Jarrett finishing in fifth place in the 10 car. The BSB Manufacturing Go Fast Award Winner was the 25 car of Patrick DeNoyer after starting 18th, passing 12 cars and finishing sixth.
