By Chris Boyd – Hello race fans! This is your July 22nd Race Recap for St. Francois County Raceway sponsored by Soaring Eagle Distributing. This race was above the rest on the temperature scale. However, the show did not disappoint. As usual, there was something special going on. The special event for the night was the Topless A-Modified show with the winner taking home an extra $50, a big trophy and a cowboy hat. On top of that, The B-Modifieds had the opportunity to run a dash and they put on a good show with it as well. The other special event for the night would be the B-Modified Mechanics Race. This race was set up just like the Sprint Car Mechanics Race. The crew members that turn those wrenches on the cars had their chance to jump behind the wheel and make a few laps. Now time to get to the regular show.

Up first for the hot night of racing was the Super Street class. There were 16 Super Streets in attendance divided into two heat races. The first heat race had eight cars take the green flag with Travis Goodman taking the win from the fourth starting position in the 76 car. Second place went to Joe Merritt in the 71 after starting sixth and the 21w car of Brad Callahan finished in third place.

Heat race number two also had eight cars take the green flag with Points Leader Jason Neel taking the win in the 94n car. Robert Hicks crossed the finish line in second place in the 32 with Ricky McCullough finishing in third place in the 44r car.

The main event for the Super Streets was a 15 lap race to the finish with Jason Neel taking home the trophy in the 94n car. Second place went to the 76 car of Travis Goodman with Joe Merritt finishing in third place in the 71 car. Fourth place went to the Super Street BSB Manufacturing Go Fast Award Winner for the night for making a smooth dash from 15th, passing 11 cars to finish fourth. That driver would be Kevin Mosier in the number 40 car. Bringing his car across the line in fifth place was the 32 car with Robert Hicks behind the wheel.

Up next for the night was the B-Modified class. There were 18 B-Modifieds in attendance divided into three heat races. The first had six cars take the green flag with Josh Hauf scoring the win in the 25h car. Second place went to the 10 car with Kyle Jarrett behind the wheel after starting in the sixth place position. Finishing in third place was the 81 driven by Tom Rorabacher.

A little addition to the B-Modified class was a dash race. This dash race was set up just like the Sprint Car’s dash. The top six cars, top two from each heat race, redrew and ran a race between the six of them to see who would start where within the first three rows of the field for the main event. The dash was a 6 lap race with the 10s of Shane Blair taking the checkered flag. Second place went to the 7 car of Mike Savage and Kyle Stolzer finished in third place in the 147 car.
