By Chris Boyd – Hello race fan! This is your July 29th Race Recap for St. Francois County Raceway. This recap is sponsored by Dexter’s Bar-B-Que. This night of racing was very special because it was Fan Appreciation Night. The gates usually open at 4pm on a regular Saturday but this day they opened at 2pm for the fans to come early and enjoy a day of fun. There were many things the fans could participate in including a dunking booth, Pie in the Face, a bouncy house, train rides, Bar-B-Que, and balloon darts. During intermission, all the drivers pulled their cars out on the front stretch and then the fans had the ability to go out on the track and meet the drivers, see the cars up close and take pictures if they would like. Then the drivers put on a show for the fans during the racing action which went as follows.

Up first for the night was the Super Street class. There were 19 Super Streets in attendance divided into three heat races. The first heat race had seven cars take the green flag with Kevin Mosier finishing out front in the 40 car with Joe Merritt finishing in second place in the 71 car. Third place went to the 76 car with Travis Goodman behind the wheel.

Heat race number two had six cars scheduled to start but only five took the green flag. Of those five, from the third starting position, Chuck Adams took the checkered in the 99 car. Second place went to the 21w car with Brad Callahan behind the wheel and Mark Byran finished in third place in the 35 car.

Heat race number three also had six cars scheduled to start but only five took the green flag. Finishing out front in heat race number three was a driver that is new to St. Francois County, Dayne Davis in the 121 car. Finishing behind him was the 94n car with Jason Neel behind the wheel and Mark Crady crossed the finish line in third place in the 70 car.

The main event was a 15 lap race to the finish with Kevin Mosier leading most of the race until a late race mechanical failure took place causing him to pull in and Chuck Adams managed to capitalize on that and take the win in the 99 car. Second place went to the 76 car with Travis Goodman behind the wheel and Mark Crady finished in third place in the 70 car. Crossing the finish line in fourth place was the 32 car of Robert Hicks. Finishing in fifth place was the BSB Manufacturing Go Fast Award Winner for the night, Keith Young in the 572 car. Young started 17th, passed 12 cars and finished fifth.

Up next for the night was the A-Modified class. There were 16 A-Modifieds in attendance divided into two heat races. The first heat race had eight cars take the green flag with current Rookie of the Year leader Kodi Savage taking the checkered flag in the 25s car. Second place went to Tim Nash in the 7 car with Jeremy Greenwalt finishing in third place in the 18x car.

Heat race number two also had eight cars take the green flag. Crossing the finish line in first place was Billy Smith in the 14 car from the fifth place starting position. Second place went to the 26j car of Jeff Frohwitter and Jeff Asher finished in third place in the 56 car.

The main event for the A-Modifieds was a 20 lap main event with Tim Nash crossing the finish line in first place in the 7 car. Second place went to the 14 car of Billy Smith and Kodi Savage finished in third place in the 25s car. Jeff Asher finished in fourth place in the 56 car with Jeff Frohwitter finishing in fifth place behind the wheel of the 26j machine. The BSB Manufacturing Go Fast Award Winner for the night was Keith Kennon in the 8k car for starting 16th, passing five cars and finishing 11th.

Running third for the night was the Sprint Car class. There were 19 Sprint Cars in attendance divided into three heat races. The first heat race had seven cars take the green flag. Finish out front was the 17* with Robbie Standridge behind the wheel. Finishing in second place was the 16g car with Scottie Gretzmacher behind the wheel and Joey Boyd finished in third place in the 67 car.

Heat race number two had six cars take the green flag with Kent Buckley finishing out front in the 87 car. Crossing the finish line in second place was Dustin Adams in the 3 car with Tommy Worley Jr. finishing in third place in the 7c car.

The third heat race also had six cars take the green flag. Finishing out front was the 8s car with Steve Short behind the wheel and Joey Montgomery finished in second place in the 35 car. Third place went to Jason Keith in the 28 car.

The Sprint Car dash was a six car six lap race to see who started where within the front three rows. Taking the win in the dash was the 35 car with Joey Montgomery behind the wheel. Second place went to the 16g car of Scottie Gretzmacher with Steve Short finishing in third place in the 8s car.

The main event was a 25 lap race to the finish with current points leader Joey Montgomery taking the win in the 35 car. Second place went to Kent Buckley in the 87 car with Scottie Gretzmacher finishing in third place in the 16g car. Crossing the finish line in fourth place was the 67 car of Joey Boyd with Jason Keith finishing in fifth place in the 28 car. The Hard Charger Award Winner for the night was the 44t car of Adam Carlyon for starting 19th, passing eight cars and finishing 11th.

Running last for the night was the B-Modified class. There were 18 B-Modifieds in attendance divided into three heat races. The first had six cars take the green flag with Darryll Dickerson coming out on top in the 44 car. Second place went to the 20s car with Eddie Smith behind the wheel and Johnny Crump finished in third place in the 27j car.

Heat race number two also had six cars take the green flag with Eddie Gross finishing out front in the 4g car after starting in the fourth position. Second place went to Chasten Boen in the 21 car with Jeff Whittier finishing in third place in the 74 car.

The third and final heat race for the night also had six cars take the green flag. Crossing the finish line in first place was Kyle Jarrett in the 10 car after starting in the sixth position. Finishing behind him in second place was Jeremy Welborn in the 27w with Chuck Huff finishing in third place in the 3d car.

The main event for the night was a 15 lap race with Eddie Gross making his way back to victory lane in the 4g car. Second place went to the 44 car with Darryll Dickerson behind the wheel and Jeremy Welborn finished in third place in the 27w car. Crossing the finish line in fourth place was Chasten Boen in the 21 car with Kyle Jarrett finishing in fifth place in the 10 car. The BSB Manufacturing Go Fast Award Winner for the night was Doug Brewster in the 63 car. Brewster started 17th, passed eight cars and finished ninth.
