(CARPENTERSVILLE, ILLINOIS) Dennis Erb Racing invaded the Volunteer State of Tennessee on March 22-23 for a pair of World of Outlaws Morton Buildings Late Model Series tilts. On Friday night at Duck River Raceway Park in Wheel, Tennessee, Dennis Erb, Jr. grabbed the fourth and final transfer spot through his heat race to earn the outside of the seventh row for the start of the $10,000 to win headliner. During the course of the 50-lap feature, Dennis was able to pick off a trio of racecars on his way to an eleventh place showing.

The action quickly shifted to Smoky Mountain Speedway in Maryville, Tennessee on Saturday evening for the annual running of the ‘Tennessee Tipoff,’ which boasted a $12,000 winner’s check. Dennis qualified tenth fastest in Group B during time trials prior to running sixth in his stacked heat race and second in his B-Main. After starting the 60-lap main event from the outside of the tenth row, the Carpentersville, Illinois driver was eventually credited with an eighteenth place performance after breaking his right front shock. Dennis currently sits ninth in the latest version of the WOOLMS point standings exiting the Volunteer State. Full results from the doubleheader weekend can be accessed online at www.woolms.com.

With the Outlaws tour sitting idle this upcoming weekend, the #28 team will take advantage of the opportunity to race closer to home. The 8th edition of the ‘Thaw Brawl’ will take place on March 30-31 at LaSalle Speedway in LaSalle, Illinois. The American Ethanol Late Model Tour (AELMT) will preside over a $5,000 to win shootout on Saturday at the 1/4-mile Land of Lincoln bullring, while a $15,000 payday will be up for grabs on Sunday. Dennis is a two-time victor of the ‘Thaw Brawl’ including scoring the hefty $15,000 windfall back in 2014.
