WHEATLAND, Missouri (April 11, 2019) – With cool temperatures expected on Friday and a forecast of persistent rain on Saturday, Lucas Oil Speedway and Lucas Oil MLRA officials have cancelled this weekend’s scheduled 6th annual MLRA Spring Nationals Presented by RacingJunk.com.

Full programs had been scheduled for Friday and Saturday nights, with the Pitts Homes USRA Modifieds and O’Reilly Auto Parts Street Stocks also on the schedule.

Lucas Oil Speedway General Manager Danny Lorton said that he, MLRA Director Ernie Leftwich and Lucas Oil Director of Racing Operations Dan Robinson agreed that cancelling is the correct decision. A practice session for the MLRA drivers had been scheduled for Thursday night.

“We wanted to make the decision early enough so the teams and fans planning to make long hauls would know before starting their trips,” Lorton said. “Saturday looks like unseasonably cool temperatures and a near-100-percent chance of rain throughout the afternoon and evening.”

Fans purchasing advance tickets or getting tickets from radio for this weekend can use those for any other 2019 event of equal value.

Action resumes at Lucas Oil Speedway on Saturday, April 20 with Show No. 2 of the Big Adventure Series Weekly Racing Series. It will be $uper $aver $pecial Night Presented by OnMedia/DISH/DirecTV.

Fans arriving before 5:30 p.m. will received four admissions, four hot dogs and four 20-ounce Coca-Cola products for $30. Gates open at 4 p.m. with racing at 7:05. Classes in action will include the Warsaw Auto Marine & RV ULMA Late Models, the Pitts Homes USRA Modifieds, the O’Reilly Auto Parts Street Stocks and the Ozark Golf Cars USRA B-Mods.

The Ozark Golf Cars USRA B-Mods will be the featured division, with a 25-lap, $750-to-win main event.

Next up for the Lucas Oil MLRA is an April 19 event at Davenport Speedway in Iowa, with $5,000 going to the winner. The 11th annual Slocum 50 is scheduled the following night at 34 Raceway in West Burlington, Iowa, paying $10,555 to win.
