CENTRAL ILLINOIS DIRT RACING REPORT by Jeff Adams
BREAKING NEWS: PLUMER STEPS DOWN AT PEORIA SPEEDWAY

Jason Plumer has stepped down as co-owner of Peoria Speedway, making the announcement on Facebook Monday afternoon. Brandon Dean will now have sole ownership of the Farmington Road oval moving forward.

“For most of my life, Peoria Speedway has been my life”, said Plumer in a Facebook post on Monday. “With the way the racing community and the world have changed as far as respect and comradery, I believe it’s time for me to step away from the sport. I believe it’s in the best interest for myself, Peoria Speedway and racing as a whole. A financial agreement that suits both parties has been reached between myself and Brandon Dean, who is no longer my partner but still a friend. I believe the track will be in a better place with Brandon solely at the reigns. I wish Peoria Speedway and my former partner Brandon Dean, all the racers, the racing community as a whole, our staff, and all of our sponsors the best of luck.”

“I want to thank Jason Plumer for all he has done for the Peoria Speedway, and for starting this venture with me’, Dean said on the track’s Facebook account Monday. “Without his racing experience, paired with my business experience, the Speedway would not have succeeded over the past few years. Unfortunately, the vision of both owners has gone two separate ways over the years. The owners met this week and reached an agreement. Brandon will purchase Peoria Speedway effective immediately. Jason Plumer cares very much for the Speedway, it’s fans and drivers. We are happy to come to a mutual agreement quickly!”

Dean has already started making changes, with weekly Time Trials for both the Late Model and Modified divisions re-instated, starting this Saturday. The Crate Modifieds will revert back to the 2018 rules, with an open engine option.

As a thank you to the fans who have supported the track, Peoria Speedway will have $5 General Admission this Saturday, May 11.
