COMP Cams Super Dirt Series Conquered by Mother Nature Again
Batesville Motor Speedway’s Bad Boy 98 Weekend Nixed by Rain

Conway, Arkansas (05/08/19) – It’s a different week, but it’s the same story. The COMP Cams Super Dirt Series presented by Lucas Oil has again fallen victim to Mother Nature. The upcoming weekend’s scheduled eighth annual Bad Boy 98 at Mooney Starr’s Batesville Motor Speedway (Locust Grove, Arkansas) has been canceled due to an already-saturated facility with more rain in the forecast.

Track and series officials are going to evaluate in the coming weeks if there are any potential reschedule dates for what was scheduled to be the richest stand-alone event in series history.

“It just keeps raining every few days in this area, and it’s making it impossible for tracks to host events,” CCSDS CEO Chris Sullivan commented. “The Batesville area has been pounded by weather for the past several weeks, and forecasts are calling for as much as three inches of rain in the next few days. This has left the track with no other option but to cancel the event. It stinks, but not much that anybody can do about the weather.”

The CCSDS competitors will now have a month off before their next events, which will be held on June 7-8. On Friday, June 7 the $2,500-to-win, Larry Shaw Tribute is scheduled for Crowley’s Ridge Raceway (Paragould, Arkansas), while Saturday, June 8 finds the annual Rockabilly 45 scheduled for I-30 Speedway (Little Rock, Arkansas) with a $5,000 winner’s check up for grabs.
