(CARPENTERSVILLE, ILLINOIS) Dennis Erb, Jr. and his #28 team ventured to the Southeast on Friday night, May 3 for a World of Outlaws Morton Buildings Late Model Series tilt at the legendary Cherokee Speedway in Gaffney, South Carolina. Dennis timed in seventh quickest in Group A during qualifying before grabbing the fourth and final transfer spot through his heat race. After starting the $10,000 to win affair from the inside of the seventh row, Dennis steered past seven competitors during the 50-lap headliner to garner a strong sixth place effort at the track deemed as the “Place Your Momma Warned You About.”

With Saturday’s WOOLMS battle at Lavonia (GA) Speedway reset to October 3 due to inclement weather, Dennis Erb Racing hastily trekked back north in time to pull through the pit gates at Quincy Raceway in Quincy, Illinois on Sunday, May 5. The Lucas Oil MLRA Series presided over the daytime showdown in the Land of Lincoln and Dennis was gunning for the $3,000 payday. The Carpentersville, Illinois ace won his heat race and later navigated the one-groove racing surface in the feature to a strong third place podium effort behind only victor Bobby Pierce and runner-up Brian Shirley. Full results from both weekend contests can be viewed online at www.woolms.com and www.mlraracing.com.

The hunt for the World of Outlaws Morton Buildings Late Model Series Championship will continue on May 10-11 with the 2nd edition of the ‘First in Flight 100’ at Fayetteville Motor Speedway in Fayetteville, North Carolina. Qualifying, heat races, and a special dash event will be held on Friday night at the sprawling speedplant, while consolation races and the 100-lap main event are slated for Saturday evening in the Tarheel State. Dennis, who comes into Fayetteville seventh in the latest version of the WOOLMS point standings, will be eyeing the whopping $25,000 top prize in the ‘First in Flight 100.’ More information can be obtained by pointing your web browser to www.woolms.com.
