(Warrensburg, Missouri) Central Missouri Speedway returned to regular weekly racing on Saturday with 63 race teams on hand. There were 21 Super Stocks, 16 B-Mods, 16 Midwest Mods, and 9 Pure Stocks competing throughout the night in preliminary heat races and main events.
At the end of the night, POWRi main event victories went to Aaron Poe in Super Stocks, Cole Campbell in B-Mods, Terry Moss in Pure Stocks, and Logan Roark in Midwest Mods. The drivers provided an exciting night of racing for all in attendance on a highly competitive track.

In the Super Stock main event, defending track champion Blaine Ewing of Green Ridge, Missouri and Warrensburg veteran John Brooks brought the field to green for the 20-lap night cap. Drivers were three-wide fighting for positions during the opening laps, but it was Ewing who emerged as the early race leader. After a pair of quick early cautions, drivers settled in and produced some spectacular racing with Ewing leading Aaron Poe, Larry Ferris, and Chad Lyle. Caution three flew over the field shortly before the halfway marker with Ewing showing the way over Poe and Ferris on the restart. One final caution bunched the field for the final restart just after halfway and from here on it was a fierce battle to the finish between Ewing and Poe. Through lapped traffic, the leaders searched for the best way around the track. Poe showed his nose a few times, but Ewing fought back the challenges, until the final lap. As the two drivers came off turn two on the white-flag lap, Ewing moved high while Poe seemed to anticipate the move and shot underneath him into turn three. The move worked, and Poe went on to capture his 30th career CMS victory. Ewing finished a close but heart-breaking second while Chad Lyle, Donnie Miller, and Jay Prevete completed the top five.

For the B-Mod 20-lap feature event, Steven Clancy of Odessa, and Kiel Morton of LaPlata, Missouri occupied row one at the start of the race. Clancy showed the way early in the race, but third-starting Cole Campbell was ever present in pursuit of Clancy to start the race. At lap three, Campbell overtook Clancy for the lead with Cody Brill and Rex Harris moving into the top four. The race was slowed on lap five for a quick caution with Brill moving to second behind Campbell on the restart. Meanwhile, Clancy and Harris had a classic battle for several laps for the third position behind the leaders. At lap 14, a second caution flew over the field with Campbell continuing to lead Brill, Sturgis Streeter, Harris, and Clancy. From this point on, Campbell went unchallenged at the front of the field, but a fierce battle ensured behind him for second. At the finish line, Campbell secured his sixth CMS victory. Streeter prevailed in the battle for the runner-up spot with Harris recording one of his best-ever CMS finishes in third. Brill settled for fourth at the line with Clancy in fifth.

Hermitage, Missouri driver Tanner Kade and Henley Missouri’s Logan Roark began the 20-lap Midwest Mod feature at the front of the field. Kade and Roark put on a clinic at the front of the field during most of the main event as Roark did all he could to keep the determined Kade behind him. The two leaders encountered lapped cars by lap seven as drivers held their line while the leaders tried to sort out who would prevail. David Wood kept the leaders in sight while running third the entire race distance just in front of Walker Burgin and Dustin Dennison. A late-race restart regrouped the field for a final restart with Roark continuing to hold off several strong challenges from Kade from lap 12 to the finish. In the end, Roark added his name to the CMS winner’s list with a fantastic victory over Kade who fought hard all the way to the finish. Wood finished a respectable third just ahead of Burgin and Dennison to complete the top five.

Last week’s feature winner, Terry Moss and defending champion Spencer Reiff began the 15-lap main event from row one. Reiff grabbed the lead at the start with Moss giving chase as the two lead cars distanced themselves from the field. Jonathan Evans moved to third at lap seven. Moss continued to pressure Reiff at the lap ten marker just as the yellow flag flew for the first time in the race while at the same time Reiff exited the track. Moss inherited the lead on the restart with Austin Story of Sedalia pulling close until lap 14 when he exited the track. For the final distance, Moss went unchallenged and collected his second-consecutive victory. Blaine Nolker had a strong run from sixth to second at the line with Darrin Christy, celebrating 40 years of racing coming home third. Jonathan Evans and Mallory Stiffler finished out the top five.
