i have to agree with dean, if you are gonna run purestreet rules you might as well just give the purestreets the option of running truck bodies, now if you wanna get creative try s-10 pickups with 406's on methanol with big ole latemodel tires. could you imagine the carnage!!!!!!!!

if im not mistaken, benton and malden purestreets are legal to run at the rock as of this weekend, according to the drivers meeting last week, any gm head will be allowed and the vaccum rule will be lowered from 16" to 15" @ 1000 rpm. the valve size was also increased from 1.94 1.5 to 2.02 1.6...

the late model car count suffers due to the fact that there is to many tracks and not enough cars running on friday nights. the only time we have had good counts is when tracks up north rain out. using the exuse that the late model guys had to work on monday is crap, all the other classes had...

thats cool!! i talked to leo kiefer friday and he said some of the pure streets from benton were wanting to come to the rock and race in 2003 due to the fact that benton had opened up the engine rules to match maldens, which, as i understood allowed vortec heads. but their were some concerns...

i was told that the purestocks would be going to asphalt takeoffs same as benton and malden. as for as other rule changes their were none. the vaccum rule is 16" @ 1000 rpm and the weight would be 2950lbs. benton and maldens vaccum is 15" and i think they were going to drop their weight rule to...
