    Gerstner & Son Motorsports Statement

The whole thing felt dishonest to me. They didn't dope the tires, but they are responsible for it not being legal? Either come clean or stay silent. They don't owe anyone an explanation, but don't treat people like children either. I think a 6 month penalty is a little harsh too. I think...

    Tri city roll call

Mr. Gundaker, You are correct as far as I can tell, but he is on the flier (along with Shannon Babb and Jimmy Mars) which usually indicates attendance. Not that it matters if they are there or not. Will be plenty of good cars in the pits I'm sure. John Layne

Kloos' tires were found to be ILLEGAL!!!!

You would have to test way more than one tire to baseline any test results. That may indeed be the problem with the testing in the first place. You would have to test several to try to quantify the consistency of Hoosier's manufacturing process. And from my past experiences working on race...

    "The Big Show IS TONIGHT"

This stuff annoys me. At a little track like Belleville you tear up wheels and body panels. You tear up chassis and motors at bigger places. If you don't like Belleville don't go. Saturday is a big show, but it happens every year. I've been waiting 8 years for tonight (ever since I first...

    Admission Cost at Belleville SN?

Seems logical to me. The house will be packed so they are charging the right amount (maybe even low). High demand begets high price. Now the fact that the crowd has been light on Fridays tells me that the 12 is too high.

    updates from granite?

"Involved" isn't the sort of word a lawyer would use unless they were trying to be vague. It is poor wording any way you look at it. It is a built-in intentional "grey" area.

    updates from granite?

1 -If you bring out the Yellow Flag you will go to the tail. If you are involved in the Yellow you will go to the tail. If you make contact in an accident and stop on the track you will go to the tail. If you spin, stop or are involved in accident on the 1st lap of any race you will go to the...

Also historically only stopping is cause for going to the back.

    updates from granite?

Historically once you show a lap car your nose they are fair game. The call was wrong for both the racers and the fans which is exactly what Billy Faust said in an admirably diplomatic way. I didn't care who won, but I wanted to see the finish and the best car/driver win. Officials should...

    Please read and respond

I like the way Jimmy is thinking :). Except that I fear the noise haters in Belleville would kill that wonderful place if they did. John Layne

    Belle-Vegas

That's why I said "used". :) Thanks for the info anyway. That was good enough news that it was worth hearing twice.

    Belle-Vegas

I always figured the Vegas reference was due to the awful redraw that used to happen there. I am not that old (or was in Kansas City at the time), but I hear that Belleville used to draw the top 12 for the feature. I always thought the pill draw after the pointless dash was a bit like pulling...

    Belleville or Tr-City

I think historically Granite City is one of the rougher tracks around. It hasn't been that way for some time (probably because of all the decay that went on before Mr. Gundaker took over), I remember my dad telling a story about having a gun pulled on them in the early eighties and rampant...

    Belleville or Tr-City

Don't get me wrong I'm a huge fan of Kevin's, but it seems to me that there are great car counts and pretty darn good spectator counts at Tri-City (when I was there it was way above the average racetrack). I wonder why in gods name they would mess up the great thing they are getting started. I...

    2 rain outs at I-55

Ruts don't make one laned race tracks. Racers not knowing how to run on rough racetracks anymore is what causes that. It also causes all the broken equiment. That and the fact that modern cars are way too light everywhere. This is dirt track racing. If you want glass smooth black surfaces...

    Belle Clair LM

The black flag was a good call there. Ten years ago "taking someone to the fence" like that would've caused people to roll in the dirt and probably some blood. That car didn't wash anywhere. I would've believed that it was a "racing deal" had he backed out of the throttle. Klein was up to...

Does the Belle-Vegas dash format need to be scrapped?

My last post was all negative which isn't quite fair. The draw is the only problem that Belleville has in my opinion. It is by far the best racetrack I've ever been to (out of 60 or so) and there is nothing like it anywhere. That being said the pill draw is one nasty black mark. I don't have...

Does the Belle-Vegas dash format need to be scrapped?

An inversion is far more fair than the pill draw. The way it is the second fastest car can be on the pole with the fastest car 3rd row out. That type of system is just rediculous. My opinion is run the dashes like pevely. As a fan I'm angry when a driver is cost the race due to bad luck. I...

    The hole that ate I-55

That track wasn't all that rough. I've said it before and I'll say it again. The auxillary pieces on most late models are too light for traditional dirt track racing. That is the choice of the guy who bolted them on though and on nights like that they pay for it.

    Thanks for "55" I-55

I don't think 55 laps was more exciting. 40 laps is a perfect amount on equipment and everything else. BTW the track wasn't all that rough. A racer makes a choice when putting equipment on their car and two weeks in a row Babb has been beaten by things being on the light edge (and by not...
