BONNE TERRE, Mo. -- (May 20, 2006) Ten-year-old Kyle Brown of Bloomsdale picked up his second consecutive win in the Super Pro ATV class at Big River Sand Drags Saturday night as he once again stormed through the competition to take home first place honors.
Back on May 6th, Brown made history at Big River by becoming the youngest competitor ever to win first place in the Super Pro ATV class. Since that time the youngster has received quite a bit of attention, including being featured in a special news story by KFVS-TV, Channel 12 in Cape Girardeau.
"His head has swelled a bit, but he's handled it pretty well," said his father Doug Brown.
If anything the young Brown appeared even more confident in picking up the win. However once again his attempt to win the top eliminator race was foiled as second place finisher Jason Waller of Bonne Terre (who just happens to be the owner of the track) defeated him in the top eliminator race.
In the Pro ATV class, Jimmy "Superfly" Farris of Potosi was the top eliminator and first place winner while Josh Nicholson of Farmington captured second place.
In ATV-1, Eric "The Real" McCoy of Potosi was the first place winner with Sarah Lunn of Pacific taking home second place and top eliminator.
In Junior ATV, Andrew Zack of High Ridge was the top eliminator and first place winner while Thad Farris of Potosi settled for second place.
In Competition Eliminator, Steve Barton of Bonne Terre won both first place and top eliminator while Brad Lunn of Pacific was second.
In Vehicle ET, Philip Beaird of St. Louis was the first place winner, but second place winner (58-year-old grandmother) Gladys Edwards of Bonne Terre won the top eliminator race.
In Stock Buggy, Cody Sellers of Arnold was the first place winner with Adam Smith of Fredericktown taking second place and top eliminator.
This weekend at Big River Sand Drags the Second Annual Missouri Open Invitational will be held (May 27-28) with racers all over the Midwest expected to participate.
