16th Annual Coors Light Fall Classic This Weekend

Meridian, Mississippi (10/19/10) In less than two days the 16th Annual Coors Light Fall Classic at Whynot Motorsports Park in Meridian, Mississippi comes to life. Excitement for the race is at an all-time high for this massive event as fans and racers from across the nation are preparing to converge on the Rodney Wing owned facility.

The 2010 edition of the event will be headlined by a 100 lap, $15,000 to win/$1,000 to start Super Late Model event, which boasts a total Super Late Model purse in excess of $55,000. Ronny Lee Hollingsworth from Northport, Alabama won a thrilling event in 2009, and will be back to defend his title in the 100 lap event against a talented field of competitors, which will likely include other former event champions including Wendell Wallace, Jimbo McDuffie, Chris Wall, David Breazeale, Don O’Neal, David Ashley, and Brian Birkhofer.

The defending champions will face an incredibly talented field of foes, who will be looking to etch their names into the record books including Bub McCool, Ray Cook, Scott Bloomquist, Billy Moyer, Billy Moyer Jr., Jason Cliburn, Chad Thrash, Klint Byars, Dennis Erb Jr., Kyle Beard, Jimmy Mars, Rick Rickman, Clint Smith, Ray Moore, Anthony Burroughs, Dale McDowell, Brian Rickman, Neil Baggett Tony Knowles, Kenny Merchant, Gary Christian, Scott Creel, and many more of the nation’s best drivers. Drivers from seventeen different states have filed pre-entries for the big event, including at least 15 drivers, who are expected to make their first ever trip to Whynot Motorsports Park. Drivers, who did not pre-enter will pay an entry fee of $150 at the gate. All non-qualifiers for the feature will receive $50.

Cliburn Performance, based in Star, Mississippi, has signed on to sponsor the Super Late Model Fast Time Award, which will see $200 going to the driver, who can navigate the 1/3 mile oval fastest in time trials.

The Crate Late Model division, which is being sponsored by M D Metals of Decatur, Mississippi, will co-headline the event as they wage war for $2,000 to win/$125 to start during the course of the event.

The Open Wheel Modified division is being sponsored by Land Sharks Inc. based in Meridian, Mississippi, and will boast a $2,500 to win/$125 to start payout.

The entry fee for Crate Late Models and the LSI Open Wheel Modifieds is $50 with all non-qualifiers receiving $50.

The Street Stock division will be headlined by a $1,000 to win/$75 to start program, while the Kajun Mini Stocks will also light up the sky as they battle for $1,000 to win/$30 to start.

Pure Stocks will run a complete show on Friday night for $250 to win/$30 to start, while the Stinger division will run a complete show on Saturday night for $250 to win/$30 to start.

Any driver, who competes in more than one division, must purchase a pit pass for each division that he or she competes.

Open practice begins Thursday night, October 21st at 7:00 PM for all divisions. Friday night is preliminaries night, as the 16th Annual Coors Light Fall Classic Super Late Models qualify and run heat races as they attempt to make the feature field. Crate Late Models will also qualify and run heat races. Open Wheel Modifieds, Street Stocks, and KMSA Mini Stocks will run their heats while the Pure Stock division will contest a complete program

B-Mains for all divisions will be contested on Saturday night along with the 16th Annual Coors Light Fall Classic Championships. A complete program for the Stinger division will be held on Saturday night.
