Sikeston, Mo; Semo Motor Speedway 2002 racing season came to a close Saturday with yet another rain-out making it the 11th rain-out of the season since Semo's season started back in mid march. According to Jerry Wolsey, general manager of the speedway the October 19th event will not be re-scheduled. "Mother Nature has not cooperated with us this year at the speedway at all" Wolsey said. Plans are currently underway to start a indoor winter series in December at the "Flickerwood" arena located three miles north of Jackson, Missouri along Interstate 55. Classes to be run during the indoor series which will run thru March will be ATV's Motorcycles, Karts, and Wingless Micro Sprints. The indoor track is 1/10th of a mile and a very nice facility located in the north central part of Cape Girardeau County. Further information about these winter events will be forthcoming in the very near future and can be found on the speedway's web site at www.semomotorspeedway.com or by calling 1-573-382-2423.

Semo will host the speedway's annual awards banquet on October 26th starting at 12:00 noon at the speedway (Rain or Shine) and the 2002 Kart and Micro Sprint Point Champions will be crowned.
