2011 POWRi Speedway Motors 600cc Outlaw Micro Schedule Released

Millstadt, IL – The POWRi presented by Speedway Motors 600cc Outlaw Micro Sprint schedule includes 25 dates for the 2011 season. The season kicks off with its annual Dean King Memorial at the Southern Illinois Centers Mini Magic Mile in Duquoin, IL. The outdoor season kicks off at the Jacksonville Speedway in Jacksonville, IL and Macon Speedway in Macon, IL on April 22nd and 23rd. Jacksonville will host the POWRi micro sprints on September 16th as well.

Belle-Clair Speedway in Belleville, IL will once again anchor the schedule for the POWRi micro sprint series hosting five events. Friday May 13th will kick off at Belle-Clair with the POWRi Midget and Micro divisions as well as the Allied Late Model division. The 2nd annual Fan Fest will highlight the Belle-Clair schedule on Friday July 1st and Saturday July 2nd. This event is being taped by NEWAVE Productions for delayed broadcast on SPEED Channel Lucas Oil on the Edge giving the POWRi competitors an opportunity to showcase their talent on TV. The Annual Arnie Knepper Memorial will be held Wednesday August 10th and the POWRi season will close at the bull-ring on Saturday Oct. 1st for the Charlene Meents Memorial.

Friday May 20th will see the POWRi micro sprints return to Wayne County Speedway in Wayne City, IL with the series then joining the midget division the following night at Tri-State Speedway on Saturday May 21st for the annual HUT 100.

For the second year in a row the Micro Sprints invade the Fayette County Speedway in Brownstown, IL on Friday June 3rd then traveling the following day for the first time to Peoria Speedway in Peoria, IL on Saturday June 4th.
On Saturday June 11th the POWRi Micro sprints along with the National Midget division will travel to Springfield Speedway in Springfield, MO for a standalone show co-sanctioned with the ASCS 2 Series out of Oklahoma.

Macon Speedway will host five POWRi Micro Sprint events this season highlighted by the Macon Micro Nationals on Friday June 17th and Saturday June 18th. On Friday August 19th the micros join the National Midgets for the Dana Godfrey Memorial. On Saturday August 20th, after watching the big cars on the Springfield Mile, competitors will take a short drive to Lincoln, IL to tackle the third mile dirt of Lincoln Speedway. This will be the first event at Lincoln for POWRi since 2007. The Micro Sprints will wrap up the Macon schedule on Saturday September 24th along with the Midgets.

Friday June 24th & Saturday June 25th the POWRi Micros will sanction the 66 Mike Phillips Memorial paying $10,000 to win at the Southern Illinois Raceway in Marion, IL. This event will hold a different format than the standard POWRi show so stay tuned for details to be shared later.
The ever popular Washington Town & Country Fair in Washington, MO will host the POWRi Micro Sprints on Saturday August 6th. All micro sprint drivers signing in for the event will receive a free pit pass for the evening’s event courtesy of the Fair.

Friday August 12th the series returns to Wayne Co. Speedway in Wayne City, IL and then will travel north to Charleston, IL for POWRi’s first time visit to the Coles County Speedway on Saturday August 13th.
