Officials with the FASTRAK Racing Series powered by Chevrolet Performance and Virginia Motor Speedway have announced an additional two cars will start the $50,000 to win and $2,050 to start 2019 FASTRAK World Championship. The race is the richest is the history of Chevrolet Performance Late Model racing, now with a total feature purse of $166,275. Virginia Motor Speedway will host the 2019 FASTRAK World Championship on September 13th and 14th. Pre-entry for the event is now open. The entry fee for the 2019 FASTRAK World Championship is $150 until September 1st. After September 1st the entry fee will be $200. Pre-entry forms are available at fastrakracing.com.
Twenty-six drivers will race their way into the 2019 FASTRAK World Championship, and two previously announced provisionals will make up the twenty-eight-car starting field. Virginia Motor Speedway will be giving a provisional to the driver highest in the Victory Lap FASTRAK Pro Late Model track standings who does not qualify for the feature. The FASTRAK Racing Series will be awarding a provisional to the driver who is highest in combined touring and weekly points who is running the AFCO Crate Spec Shocks that does not qualify for the feature.
There will be non-qualifiers’ races for drivers who do not make the A-Main. The number of non-qualifiers’ races will be based on the total car count for the FASTRAK World Championship. The purse for the non-qualifiers’ races will be announced at a later date.
“This event just keeps getting bigger,” said FASTRAK Executive Vice President DJ Irvine, “These two spots alone added $4,100 to the total purse. We are working hard on the purses for the non-qualifiers races, and will have more to announce before this historic race.”
The 2019 FASTRAK World Championship will be featured as a two-hour special of Speed51’s Short Track America on MavTV, scheduled to premier on October 30th at 7pm.
