Midwest Speed, inc. is pleased to announce the upcoming 2nd Annual 4 Cylinder Dirt Track World Championship presented by US101 and Behind the Pit Wall, to be held this year on September 24, 2005 at the "World's Fastest 1/5 Mile" the Mighty MACON SPEEDWAY in Macon, Illinois. Macon Speedway, in it's 60th year of operation is conveniently located just 9 miles from Decatur, Illinois off of US 51.

Last years event was a huge success despite the severe cold weather we experienced, a chance that was taken by holding the event in October, stated event coordinatory Terry Young of Springfield, Illinois. Efforts were made to move the event a month sooner this year to try to avoid the opportunity for cold weather. The inaugural event seen over 100 cars in the pit area with the hornet class, modifieds and street stocks on the race card. "We were more than pleased with our first event since it was our first attempt at promoting an event" stated Young. 5 lucky children left the track with new bicycles that were given away as door prizes compliments of Eagle Chassis and Jungle Jim's Cafe of Springfield, Illinois, and several winners left the track with beautiful trophies and a nice paycheck for the days efforts.

This years event will also include the sportsman division which was added by popular demand. Event organizer Young stated that with the rule variations amongst Midwest tracks in the street stock class, this will afford an opportunity for cars to participate in the event that may not have been legal for the street stock class but could move up a class to particpate in the sportsman division.

The 4 Cylinder division will award the winner a 7' beautiful trophy, a replica of that awarded to the winner of the WORLD 100, along with a check in the amount of $1,000.00. 2004 winner Joey Smyser of Charleston, Illinois is expected to return to defend his title of 4 Cylinder World Champion.

In the modified division, Buffalo, IL. own Jeff Leka is also expected to particpate in the 2nd Annual event to defend his 2004 title. The modified winner will also recieve $1,000.00 along with a 5' replica WORLD 100 trophy.
