For three consecutive years, the “Coliseum Arena-Cross” has been a big affair on the Missouri State Fairgrounds in Sedalia, running solely on Sundays after the Coliseum’s indoor Kart racing the night before.

But the turnout has been so big the past two of the three years that Wayne Campbell, promoting the event through Campbell Promotions, has stretched the 4th annual event to a two day show.

“It was not only a lot of work to change our track from a karting oval to a motocross overnight, but we had so many entries we were getting out of here way too late on Sunday,” remembers Campbell. “A lot of the riders have a long way to get home, and we were really draggin’ by the time it was all over.”

The four-wheeled “Coliseum Indoor Kart” Series competitors will get another weekend off to refresh their racing machines.

Another four wheel type of competition, All Terrain Vehicles (ATV’s), will start their action of the double-day, weekend event on Saturday evening. The pits will open at 2 pm, grandstands at 3, warm-ups at 4 with the first Moto off the line at 5 pm.

Included in the wild and wooly 4-wheelers will be the following classes for the Youth division: 0-50cc 4-8 year-olds, 0-90cc Stock 8 to 15, 0-90cc Modifieds 9 to 15 and 200 2-stroke and 350 4-stroke for 14 and 15 year-olds.

For the Adult classifications: Open Expert/ Pro Production, Veteran 30+/ B-Intermediate, C-Novice, D-Beginner Women’s and 200 2-stroke and 350 4- strokes.

Trophies will be awarded for the top three spots in the adult classes, and a 100% payback is set for the Xpert Class.
For pertinent information about the ATV division, call Brian Schwartz at 573.377.2289.

Things will get underway much sooner for the Motorcycle motos on Sunday. The pit shack will open its doors at 7 am, at 10 am the grandstands will open, practice starts at 11 am with the first moto getting underway at noon.

Classes for the Youth category include: 50cc at 4 to 6 year-olds, 50cc Open for 7 and 8’s, 60cc Open for 7 to 11 and 12 to 16 year-old riders in 80cc Open.

Adults will compete in 125cc Beginner, Novice, Intermediate and Xpert, 250cc Beginner, Novice, Intermediate and Xpert, and 30+/ Big Bike Open (No Experts). Trophies will be awarded all the way back to the youth classes, with winners trophies over 3 feet tall.
