Kennedale TX (9/30/11) by DarinShort.com. Cowtown Speedway will offer race fans and teams a ghoulish mixture of racing and fun on October 28th and 29th with the running of the Cowtown Spooktacular. Fans can take in four divisions of racing, and all at trick-or-treat sized ticket prices:
- They’re baaack…$5,000 to win Topless Modifieds! As memorable as that line is from the movie Poltergeist, so are the memories of past Topless Modified events at Cowtown. Using the traditional Cowtown format of heats and qualifiers on Friday; then last chance races and the Championship 40-lap feature on Saturday, Topless Modified drivers will be competing for the top prize of $5,000 cash stuffed into a Halloween candy pail! Online pre-registration is highly recommended for this event as the 21st place starter will be drawn from drivers that pre-enter only. There will be an auction prior to the feature race that will pay a 22nd starting position, going to the highest bidder! Event flyer, online registration, rules and more are at the track website.
- A Spine-Chilling purse for Limited Modifieds…$3,000 to win! In one of the largest Limited Modified purses in Cowtown history, teams will be demonstrating their best hocus pocus to see if they can pull a victory out of the hat. Online pre-registration is highly recommended for this event as the 21st place starter will be drawn from drivers that pre-enter only. There will be an auction prior to the feature race that will pay a 22nd starting position, going to the highest bidder! Event flyer, online registration, rules and more are at the track website.
- Street Stocks/Stock Cars will cast a spell – and one will find a grand in their Halloween pail! That’s right, a chilling $1,000 to win for Street Stocks will be on the line, again making for one of the largest purses for their class in the area. Online pre-registration is highly recommended for this event as car numbers will be assigned by a first-entered basis. IMCA legal Stock Cars are okay. Home track rules apply, and drivers must bring copy of rules for tech officials. Exception: No Ardmore-rules Street Stocks allowed. Event flyer, online registration, rules and more are at the track website.
- It’s no hayride for the Bomber/Hobby Stock teams either…$750 to win! Once the fog lifts at the end of the Bomber feature, $750 will await the winner…along with becoming the Spooktacular champion. Online pre-registration is highly recommended for this event as car numbers will be assigned by a first-entered basis. IMCA legal Hobby Stocks are legal. Home track rules are okay, driver must bring copy of rules with for tech officials. Event flyer, online registration, rules and more are at the track website.
- A hair-raising $500 cash will go to Race Fans! That is five-hundred bone-chilling dollars will be on the line as ‘Bench Racing’ returns for race fans on Saturday night. This popular fan-only game will have race fans on the edge of their ‘bench’ as $500 will be doled out! Plus, there will be Spooktacular games and prizes for kids all night long.
Visit the track website, www.CowtownSpeedway.com and there you will find the complete event flyer, race purses, specific class rules, online registration and much more. Online registration is open now and will run through Tuesday, October 25th of race week. Pre-entered drivers can also purchase a two-day advance pit pass online that will allow them to only have to go through one line at the pit window on Friday night (the far left window). Car numbers will be assigned on a first-registered basis. Teams are urged to get pre-entered as soon as possible. As always, entry fee does not include pit passes; which are $30 per person each night. If you are racing more than one division, the driver must purchase and additional pit pass per night, per racing division entered.
Any driver in any division that chooses not to race on Friday night must pay full entry fee plus purchase two pit passes on Saturday night and start at the back of the last chance race to receive the full advertised race purses.
Practice night for all race divisions will be held on Thursday, October 27th from 5pm to 10pm. All pit passes are $15 and the main grandstand area will be closed.
Adult grandstand tickets (ages 12 and up) on Friday night are $12 and $15 on Saturday night. Ages 6-11 each night are $5 and for this event, ages 5 and under are FREE each night! All pit passes each night are $30. 2-day pit passes will only be sold online through October 25th.
