Columbus, MS - Friday and Saturday evening, March 12th and 13th, Columbus Speedway comes alive with the 3rd Annual Rebel Challenge. The 50-lap., $8,000-to-win Super Late Model event has become one of the most anticipated early-season events in the South as Columbus continues to draw from the hottest regional drivers as well as a number of national stars for its spectacular special events. Another high-quality field is expected to take on the wide-open high banks for Columbus' trademark on-the-edge, 3+ wide Super Late Model racing action. Previous champions are "The Pontotoc Pirate" Steve Russell and dirt racing superstar Scott Bloomquist. All event proceeds benefit the Bobby Brown Scholarship Fund.

As usual, the action does not stop with the high-flying Super Late Model division. All "Heavy Metal" divisions will be in special event action, featuring $1,200-to-win Open Wheel Modifieds, $700-to-win in both Pro Street and the crowd-pleasing Street Stocks, $500-to-win in the super-competitive Mini Stock class, and a full show in the chaotic Two-Person Cruiser division each night. There is no entry fee for local divisions, and all 24 places will be paid.

Action begins on Friday night with pole qualifying and qualifying heat race action in Super Late Models as well as local division qualfying heat race action and a full Cruiser feature race. Action is scheduled to start at 8:00 PM, with grandstand admission $12 with children 10 and under free. Saturday night features the Rebel Challenge 50 and features for all other divisions, preceded by B-Main races as needed. Saturday night action starts at 7:00 PM with grandstand admission only $15 with children 10 and under free. Pit passes are $25 each night, pit gates open at 2:00 PM both days.

Columbus Speedway will also host "Opening Night" on March 6th, a great time for drivers to come and tune up for the Rebel Challenge as well as the upcoming 12th Annual James King Memorial. Full racing action in all divisions will be featured starting at 7:00 PM Saturday as Columbus kicks off another spectacular season under Johnny Stokes & Company. Gates open at 5:00 PM (Pit gates at 3:00 PM) with grandstand admission only $10, children 10 and under admitted free.
