BARBERVILLE, Fla. (Feb. 7, 2003) - Margie Del Negro experienced the ride of her life on Friday night at the Volusia Speedway Park.

Del Negro suited up and hung on for four laps while she participated in the All Star Circuit of Champions ride-along sprint car program. Ten years to the date, Del Negro suffered from a series heart condition. She was put on the waiting list for a heart transplant, and weeks later she received a call for a life saving transplant. Marking her ten year anniversary, her husband Gerry purchased his wife, the ride the put her heart to the test. Florida race star Sport Allen piloted the two-seat sprint car. Del Negro’s heart was racing when she climbed out of the sprint car, but she told fellow ride-along participants and All Star employees that, “I will never forget this anniversary present, and I want to thank the All Stars for allowing me to experience how great life feels.”

This anniversary marked the first anniversary for the All Star Circuit of Champions because Del Negro is the first heart transplant recipient to have participated in the ride-along program. This night was a success for the All Star Circuit of Champions and Del Negro’s life is full-speed ahead.
