All Star sprints announce ambitious 2003 schedule of 74 events

CAMARGO, IL – The All Star Circuit of Champions sprint car series presented by Haulmark Race Trailers will undertake their most ambitious schedule ever in 2003. The traveling dirt track series will sanction 74 events at 31 speedways across 17 states and is now known as “America’s Series”. For 2003 the All Stars will be venturing into several regions of the country for the first time, bringing their fast paced action and highly competitive racing to fans in new markets at many different speedways. Several of the shows in 2003 will be co-sanctioned with other racing organizations, the World of Outlaws (WoO) and the National Championship Racing Association (NCRA). A total of 16 races will be run in conjunction with the WoO and 14 races with the NCRA.

Six tracks will host the All Star series for the first time ever, including Texas Motor Speedway in Ft. Worth, Talladega Short Track in Talladega, AL, The Dirt Track at Lowe’s Motor Speedway in Concord, NC, Red River Valley Speedway in West Fargo, ND, the new Delta Bowl Speedway in Tunica, MS and the Southern Iowa Speedway in Oskaloosa, IA. Returning to the schedule after several years absence are the East Alabama Motor Speedway in Phenix City, Tri-City Speedway in Granite City, IL and the West Virginia Motor Speedway in Mineral Wells, WV. East Alabama hosted the series in 1991 and West Virginia saw the All Stars last visit in 1992. Tri City saw the All Stars compete on the half mile back in 1997.

The 2003 season kicks off with the eight traditional Florida Speedweek dates, four at Volusia Speedway Park (Barberville) Feb. 6-9 and another four at the East Bay Raceway Park (Gibsonton) where the 27th annual Winternationals finale on Feb. 15 pays $15,000 to the winner.

Texas Motor Speedway hosts the only March action along with the WoO on March 28-29, and April kicks off with a two-day visit to Alabama at East Alabama April 4 and the Talladega Short Track April 5. Moving back to Ohio, Attica Raceway Parks presents the annual Coors Nationals April 11-12. Up next Eldora Speedway hosts a two-day show April 18-19 followed by a Sunday night stop at K-C Raceway in Chillicothe April 20. Then Limaland Motorsports Park and Fremont Speedway present a weekend doubleheader April 25-26.

May kicks off with a return to the Williams Grove Speedway in Central PA Friday night May 2 followed by a visit to the Lincoln Speedway in Hanover May 3. A pair of weekends with the NCRA are up next, starting May 8-9-10 for the NCRA vs. All Stars South Swing at 81 Speedway in Wichita, KS, Joplin 66 Speedway in MO and Jetmore (KS) Motoplex. Then the next weekend is the NCRA vs. All Stars North Swing at West Virginia Motor Speedway May 16, K-C Raceway near Chillicothe OH May 17 and Tri-State Speedway in Haubstadt, IN is in action on May 18. Lowe’s Motor Speedway is next on May 23-24 and Eldora Speedway rounds out the month on May 31.

June kicks off in Michigan at Hartford June 6 and Butler Motor Speedway in Quincy on June 6. A three day show is up next at Red River Valley Speedway in West Fargo, ND, June 12-13-14 and then teams head south to the new Delta Bowl Speedway in Mississippi on June 20-21 for another NCRA co-sanctioned event. Eldora Speedway holds their annual Anniversary race June 28, followed by the opening night of Ohio Speedweek on Sunday, June 29 at Attica Raceway Park. Speedweek continues Monday at Wayne County Speedway in Orrville, then to Fremont on Tuesday, K-C Raceway in Chillicothe on Wednesday, back to Fremont on Thursday, Limaland on Friday and the Ohio Speedweek grand finale is at Portsmouth Raceway Park on Saturday night July 5.

Williams Grove and Lincoln play host again on July 11-12, followed by the Kings Royal weekend at Eldora July 18-19 with $50,000 to the winner. A return to the Tri-City Speedway in Illinois is scheduled for Saturday night July 26 to round out the month.

August opens up with the third annual Pella Challenge two-day show at the Knoxville Raceway Aug. 1-2, followed by the Historical Big One three day show at Eldora Aug. 7-8-9. Saturday’s Historical Big One final pays $100,000 to win. The popular Front Row Challenge at Southern Iowa Speedway in Oskaloosa will be All Star sanctioned for the first time Aug. 11, then the All Stars will head to the annual Thunder Through the Plains Tour co-sanctioned by the NCRA. Thunder Through the Plains kicks off Aug. 20 at Mid-Nebraska Raceway in Doniphan, followed by events at Jetmore (KS) Motoplex, 81 Speedway and the Thunder final Sat. Aug. 23 at Tulsa Fairgrounds Speedway.

Labor Day weekend marks a return to Lernerville (PA) Speedway Aug. 29 for the Earl and Dave Bauman Memorial race, followed by the two-day Attica Ambush Aug. 30-31.

Returns to K-C Raceway and Fremont are up the next weekend Sept. 5-6, with the annual Hoosier Fall Classic in Lawrenceburg, IN in action for two-days Sept. 12-13. The Hoosier Fall Classic final will pay $12,000 to win.

Mercer Raceway Park in Mercer Pa. will hold the Sept. 20 date, followed by a return to Talladega Sept 27.

October starts out on Saturday night the fourth at Eldora Speedway, and the season concludes at Texas Motor Speedway on October 10-11.
